The best advice I can give is to go to the bar upstairs instead. The while food inventive, is very expensive for the small portions you get.

While it looks like a high end corporate restaurant, the food really delivers. We were probably a bit underdressed going there for dinner, but I'm glad we did. Every dish was so creative, and we all agreed that oyster appetizer, with chopped ingredients was the best. While prices were up there, the food was great, as was the service.

We have been to Mision 19 several times, most recently this past month. We love all of the restaurants owned by Chef Javier Plasencia, but this is his flagship locale...simply the best! I always try the tasting menu, but my husband sticks to the regular menu. We are always very pleased with our meal, and the service is very good,... More

After a week of business meetings, I was ready for a quiet evening and a light bite. But my colleagues pretty much insisted that we had to experience Mission 19. I'm so glad I did! Knockout place. A bit odd to get to, but once inside the atmosphere was great. It had an industrial vibe without being cold. Call it... More

We walked across the border from San Ysidro to TJ on a Tuesday night to celebrate a birthday dinner at Mision 19. It was a perfect evening. We made reservations online. We then took a taxi for @US $6 to the restaurant (the Uber ride back was @US $2). The restaurant is in an office building designed by a well... More

I have had the good fortune of dining at some of the finest restaurants on five continents. It isn't often that I smile and smile and ascend to, as another writer offered, "food heaven." Outstanding original menu, freshest ingredients, divine flavors, discreet service, attention to detail. I usually appear dressed a la Jackie O with pearls, etc., but had been... More

this restaurant is unlike just about any in Mexico, and perhaps the US. The food is fresh, locally sourced, and prepared in ways you have never had. The menu changes seasonally and i'm sure is fantastic any time of the year Local wine and local ingredients prepared with amazing tastes. The service is also superb and prices are extremely fair.... Crossing the border is easier these days, and the new checkpoints are less congestive. We went on a Friday night leaving from downtown San Diego. Bracero, a local SD favorite and Mision 19's chef Javier Plascencia parted ways so we decided to go straight to his restaurant in TJ. From downtown, it will take and hour and half if you... More

Taste buds overload!!! Best taste I have ever had. Ambience is nice low light good for conversation. Host and waiters were good. Food was bomb! Ok for family, ok to pay with CC. Not good for watching events on tv (no tv's), great for first dates, romantic dates special ocasiones or just friends out for the night and a great... More

I loved everything I ate! We had a cocktail to start and then a tuna tartar to share. My main plate was a Lonja de Pescado that was delicious and as a desert sugar apples ( I cannot remember de name ) . Everything was delicious and I loved that the su-chef Luis went to the table to explain us... More
