This place reminds me of all the throwbacks from the 50's and 60's, relying on the legend to pull them through. Inside it's shrine to the family owners, with el Rey featured prominently in photos and video slide shows throughout the dated interior. The smell of the food cooking was really nice, the visual of the open kitchen fun, but... More

Great meal, goat was delicious. Order a bandera drink (Mexican flag) layers of tequila, tomato juice and lime juice.

Went back to Monterrey, Mexico after 15 years. The place is a tradition. Nice atmosphere, excellent service and the Cabrito (roasted young goat over an open pit of coals) is the best. Went to other famous places in Monterrey, but this one is it. The meat is juicy, tender and great flavor. They give you a plate of "frijoles con... More

All of the food is excellent and usually about 5 minutes after you order it's served. The wait staff are the best in Mexico! LOVE IT and eat here overtime I'm in Monterrey!

Great place for a big group. Basic menu with various Cabrito, some steak and a few apps. Food comes quick. No fuss service. Crazy interior. Lots of bling. Nothing subtle. Cabrito is fine. If you are in the mood for it, it will hit the spot. All and all I would go with a large group to have a good... More

I think the place has lowered its quality. A local said the Cabrito is now dry and with not many meat like before. The service was good. The food was good, bun I think it is too expensive.

Traditional cusine of North Mexico, Cabrito al pastor (Goatling), good service and here you get the Monterrey most traditional food. Its like a touristic place. Prices affordable and nice Mexican atmosphere. Located in Downtown Monterrey

While in Monterrey for business, I was told to have or try cabrito. So I came here as it looks very impressive from the outside. I thought it was ok, but nothing to go crazy over. I felt it was overpriced. Service was ok.
