I loved this place, I want to highlight Marco's service. The service was excellent, even though there were several of us at the table, he did not despair and was always attentive to ensure that we were missing nothing, the truth is that he made our dinner more enjoyable. Now the food, the menu is very large and everything looks great, it was difficult to make a decision. I chose the jerky with gratin cheese and the pasta with vegetables, which were very good, I did not regret my choice. My friends chose chicken parmesan which was very delicious. There is a burger on the menu that doesn't say it's a burger, the dish is called the second to none. It seems that it is a cut but we received a hamburger, perhaps it would be good to clarify the description. Another of my friends ordered a dish that is in mango sauce that has room for improvement, it was too sweet that you can hardly eat it. I want to return to this place when I return to this destination!!!

We had a fabulous dinner in the a/c dining room. We ordered beer, wine and shrimp with mango ketchup for an appetizer. For dinner my husband and I both had Terra Mar. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the shrimp came with a chipotle sauce along with rice and roasted veggies. We a shared a key lime pie with house red wine for dessert. Laura was out waitress and took good care of us all evening. This restaurant is very well organized with lots of staff to serve the customers. Our food and service was so good we reserved another night before we return home. The menu is extensive with so many choices. Looking forward to eating on the terrace next time.

We have been visiting Huatulco for many years and Terra Cotta has always been a favourite of ours. Excellent food and drinks. We have noticed, however, that service has declined. It used to be service that was a cut above to give you that “fine dining” experience. The waiters used to welcome us warmly, explain the menu, offer a wine list, tell us about dessert options, etc. We no longer experience this same level of service. Our last visit there - we sat for a long time before anyone acknowledged us. No wine list presented, very little interaction with the server, we had to ask for cutlery, we were not offered another drink or dessert options. While we are not fussy people and typically just go with whatever the service is, Terra Cotta was special largely because of the service we used to get. A bit disappointed that they have lost this special touch although food still great.

They Didn’t Take Credit Cards This Night

I recommend reservations. I had the salmon and it was very tasty. The atmosphere was nice, if a bit noisy as it was a busy night. We went early, between 5-6 PM. Our male server was abrupt and did not inform us that they were only taking cash that night instead of credit cards. We barely had enough cash to cover our check. Our meal cost about 1,000 pesos ($50 for two with no drinks). The restrooms were very clean.

Unfortunately, internet and cell phone service suddenly crashed in all of Huatulco and was out for most of the evening. Because credit card machines require internet in order to connect to their network, all of our terminals stopped working. I apologize for the inconvenience, but this situation was entirely unforeseen and out of our hands.

Worst dinner and customer service on my Birthday!! No celebration here…

Can not understand why people would say this restaurant was good!,, We reserved several days in advance and were then given a table right where the waiters load their dirty dishes into the drawers. The noise was disruptive so we asked nicely to move. They put us under the air conditioner which sounded like a transport truck running. The Manager said yes it was noisy and walked away. I ordered the Tortilla soup and what came was this salty concoction of mostly tortilla chips in mush. I explained once again to the Manager that I could not eat this and it was in fact very salty.He took it away and returned without the soup or a new one saying it wasn’t salty according to the Chef and again walked away. When the bill came … the soup was still on it but I just wanted to leave this restaurant that had absolutely no customer service. The waiter never returned to our table after we gave our order..We paid our bill at the Cashier desk and when we were at the lights the Manager ran up to us and said we didn’t pay. We assured him we did and he walked away. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Also, if you don’t speak Spanish you will have a very difficult time being understood. I do speak Spanish so there was not an issue with communication. Just terrible, terrible customer service…

First, I would like to apologize for the inadequate service that you received at our restaurant. Emilio, the waiter who attended you that evening, has been with us for over twenty years and normally receives rave reviews, but unfortunately, this was not the case with you. We checked camera footage of your table that evening to see what happened and it was clear that he was avoiding your table. Our restaurant was full that evening and we saw that he was checking in on all of the tables in his section that night, but hardly approached yours. We had a management meeting to discuss your complaint and his answer, although honest, was not satisfactory. He said that you “were mean” and he felt very uncomfortable attending your table because everything was a complaint from the moment you walked through the door. It was clear that the bustling noise from the restaurant bothered you and after you were moved to a different table, you then became disgruntled with the AC noise. He didn’t know how to deal with your soup complaint because we had served many tortilla soups that night using the same base without any complaints. Tortilla soup is prepared in front of the customer so that the tortilla strips remain crunchy. If you let the soup sit once the broth is poured over the tortilla, it does become mushy. He said he didn’t know how to deal with that complaint because you didn’t eat it right away and just let it sit in front of you, so obviously the tortilla became soggy. I would like to point out that Emilio is not our manager as you mistakenly thought he was. Unfortunately, the night you were dining with us was our manager’s day off or I am sure that he would have taken over attending your table once he detected problems. I feel terrible that you came to us to celebrate your birthday and had such a disappointing experience. On a positive note though, it did seem that your dining companion enjoyed her meal.

Cozy Place with great attentive service

Dropped by after an early walk from Playa Santa cruz ..decided to try their famous french toast version…as soon as I got in ..impressed with the cozy atmosphere, clean place with white tablecloth on each table. Waitress was very cordial and friendly. True enough, french toast was very filling (ordered one slice) serving was huge for a slice. Toast had a custard like filling as I sliced it and was totally delicious. Proce was reasonable.

Best meal we had in Huatulco

On a tip from a local we tried Terra Cotta and were so glad we did. This restaurant is a bit dressy, table cloths, classy interior. But the food!!! O. M. G. It was a delight. We enjoyed the coconut crusted fish dinner with sautéd spinach and sweet potato puree. It was divine! The green salad was fresh and tasty. Service was great also. Reservations are not a bad idea though we just showed up. Price was excellent as was the lime margherita. Highly recommend.

Nice clean restaurant, the food was very good. This was our second time eating there and would definitely go back. We went for lunch but they don't serve lunch til 1 so we had breakfast. You have to try the deserts as they have a good variety of cakes and pies. We split a piece of carrot cake and it was a large slice and tasted wonderful.

There’s a reason this place is top rated. It’s a great one ! Food and service were both excellent and the price was very reasonable. For 2 meals , 1 cocktail , 1 dessert …we paid about $40 usd with very generous tip ! Do expect to make reservations. We made ours the day before. Enjoy !

Delicious food, attentive service, reasonable prices. Loved the molotes, the tortilla soup, and especially the empanadas de huitlacoche! We ate outside and were joined by a half-dozen persistent but not aggressive bees — perhaps inside would have been a better choice.

Our party has had three meals at Terra Cotta and each experience has been extremely rewarding. The menu is varied, the food is delicious and the staff are kind and helpful. They have accommodated special requests due to food allergies and re-arranged tables to let us sit in our chosen spot. There is a wide selection of local specialties.

If you are looking for a fine dining experience with North American standards of cleanliness, service and menu variety, this is the place in Huatulco to go. Excellent selection of appies, salads, pastas, seafood and meats. Also good selection of cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. Also, it’s air conditioned which can be a welcomed treat when the heat and humidity get too much.

We ate at this restaurant 3 times (2 dinners, 1 breakfast) and were consistently impressed. There is a wide selection, service is great, and they were very understanding and helpful with food allergies. Believe the hype about the French toast for breakfast!

This place is such a gem. It’s known as the place with air conditioning. That gave me a chuckle. Classy place. That said, we were dressed casually and so were the other patrons. You do not have to be dressed up to go there. The ambiance is just perfect. The food was incredible. Fresh, well presented, great portions and absolutely delicious. We ordered their queso fundido and it was unlike any I’ve had in the USA. Amazing! The service is second to none. Everyone was friendly and very professional. You will have several people looking after you. If you have questions, just ask. Some Spanish would be great. They’re very accommodating to English but a few words can help so much. I wish we’d had room for dessert. They looked amazing but we were full from the appetizer and meals. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices. Very reasonable considering the wonderful meals we received. It was so impressive that we went a second night while in Huatulco. I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.

Hopefully you don’t get Polo, amazing place

This place has air conditioning and the ambience is so calming. It’s really beautiful in here, even in the bathrooms! Would’ve gotten five stars but the host “Polo” was super rude to my family members and they were upset/frustrated for most of the meal. As long as you don’t get Polo you should have a good time, we went multiple other times and it was great. Really kind waiters who even got me a menu in English
