Beautiful view and breeze from the beach only steps from the open air restaurant. Fresh food, great cocktails, stuff and tasty margaritas.

The food is superb at Ocean, we tried most of the appetizers and just a bite of their burger and pasta (only because I stole a bit from my 13 yo son); they were all delicious; my favorite was the Octopus. The environment is just...awesome and the services is just amazing, very special thanks to Cinthia, Sandra, Caro and Danny who treated us like family. Eugenio (Chef/Owner) was absolutely nice and accommodating (te espero en Houston). Note: if you go to Mexico (or any other foreign country) enjoy the local culture and food !More

Dined here last night w/ another couple we travelled w/ in Huatulco. We had a great deal of anticipation & even excitement on my part to eat here. Great location, beautiful views & many good reviews on Trip Advisor. My wife & I are pretty...discriminating about our food &!restaurant choices, so it was not as if we just did a “walk up.” We viewed the menu, did an eyeball & made a reservation. To begin: -lovely table in the relatively empty restaurant, overlooking the beach & the ocean-margaritas ordered & arrived; they’re good. Then the food starts & so do the troubles...- calamari. Frozen commercially prepared junk accompanied by approx 22 limp, flaccid French fries (also frozen) This was a terrible start, & all down hill from here. -wife’s “Coconut Shrimp” arrive. Again: frozen! Here we sit beside the sea & we are being served frozen seafood. Totally offensive & insulting. - the other couple are quite possibly the most polite & mild mannnered people we know, so they were plowing thru quietly, but acknowledged after we left their meals were incredibly poor. - timing & pace off arrivals of meals poor. Then to top it all off, we run into a technical glitch when time to pay. I must offer full disclosure here & admit I entered the wrong PIN on the handset once, setting off a cascade of technological failures that finished off an already dissatisfactory experience. Thereafter, the manager was unable to either solve the the problem or more shockingly, offer any solutions. This man even had the temerity to tell my wife (who is incredibly polite) that “You just need to be patient” This smacks of sexist attitude in my books, & in Canada wld have prompted an immediate visit from me. But as visitors we took one on the chin as we are after all polite. Take Home Message: dreadful food, unacceptable customer service, poor management. I wold advise any contemplating dining here to keep it to drinks only.Dined here last night w/ another couple we travelled w/ in Huatulco. The food is amazing here, the views and atmosphere are breathtaking. I can’t wait to be back. What I liked the most was the hospitality. We made reservation with someone that was very busy, yet he took his time to greet us and make the...reservations for the next day. Turns out he was the chef/9owner of Ocean Huatulco. Very friendly (and handsome) guy. Steps from a beautiful coved beach. Can’t wait to go back!More

For our Valentine celebration we decided to take the evening real slow by ordering one dish at a time. Started with a tuna appetizer and then the avacado appetizer. Both were excellent in taste and presentation. We then shared the coconut shrimp. Comes with a...pineapple sauce to die for. The shrimp were meaty and tender although my partner said one of his slightly overcooked. The margarita was one of the best. We sat overlooking the tables below and enjoyed the music and wonderful ambience of the restaurant. Service is excellent too.More

Our family of 6 went to dinner at the Ocean Restaurant after not having been there for over a year. Based on past experience, we were looking forward to an enjoyable evening. Ambience, good. Service, exeptionally good. Crooner also very good. Drinks, good. Food, good...for the other 5 and terrible from my perspective. The tortilla soup I had ordered was cold. The ingredients were good but the soup was cold. I did not send it back as by the time my soup arrived the others had practically finished eating their "starters". For my main dish, I had ordered seared tuna (supposedly caught fresh that morning). It was not on the menu, but after checking availability with the chef, I was told that it would be excellent. Again, my order was the last one to be served; rightly so, as I was the host. Sadly, the tuna was improperly seared and was cold, even on the outer surface. This time, I sent it back and ordered an alternative dish from the menu, which was perfectly good.More

The service here was a little slower than expected. The shrimp was a tad overcooked and only warm but tasted great.

We visited the many bays of Huatulco in the Oaxaca state. There seems to be a bay for everyone. The ocean was pretty unique in each. There were the calm protected clear blue waters easy to swim, the less protected sandy yet transparent waters that...could be snorkeled, then the windy, waves rolling, surf-able waters. Between the extremes there was plenty of appealing area with aquatic landscapes to scuba and photograph. Truly beautiful.More

Danny was our server for the evening, and he was fantastic! We arrived around 615pm on a Tuesday night, it was pretty empty but around 7 it started to fill up. The place is small so I would definitely make reservations just in case. Appetizers...: calamari 5/10 tuna with black sauce and sesame 10/10 We ordered 3 entrees because they all looked so good. Spaghetti shrimp 8/10 octopus 9/10 catch of the day (mahi mahi). 10/10 Everything was fantastic and we would 100% order them again. Definitely a lot of food for 2- we were stuffed. But of course we had to order dessert. Previous reviews said to try the Oreos fritos with vanilla ice cream and wow- so so good. 10/10. The churros with condensed milk and chocolate were a great hit too. 8/10 We hope to come back to try all of the other delicious items on the menu.More

We were able to take a private tour boat out of Santa Cruz Bay and head up-and-down the coast. The ocean near Huatulco is so beautiful. We were able to pull into many of the beaches and snorkel. The coastline is very stunning with the...mountains in the background, very clean and beautiful. We were able to see whales and dolphins and this trip was very exciting and worth taking the time to explore.More

It is with a walking distance of the beach. Maybe less than 50 meters. But I s definitely one of the most upscale restaurants in Huatulco
