Nice steak and affordable wine

As advertised, a restaurant that specializes in Argentina cuisine…think meat. Smallish outdoor patio and larger inside seating. Menu offered meals other than carne so there are options. Our steak was cooked as requested (pink) and came piping hot off the grill with a baked potato and veggies. Very nice. Salads were also good. And….suprise suprise a house wine that was better than most here and at a great price. So, all in all, a good meal. Recommended

Not to be missed restaurant

We are so glad we didn’t wait until our last week in Huatulco before discovering this place. We’ve walked past it a dozen times but finally stopped by for dinner. The atmosphere is welcoming, the menu appealing, the prices were very acceptable and our waiter Rigo was excellent and spoke perfect English. We weren’t that hungry so I ordered the chicken salad and my husband had the flank steak sandwich. Both were delicious and filling. The house red wine was amazing for the price. I didn’t expect an Argentinian Tempranillo as their house wine. It was outstanding. We both had two glasses. It was that good. So glad we still have two weeks left in Huatulco. We will be going here several more times. I was in the food/wine industry and know a hidden gem when I find one. This is definitely a not to be missed experience. Very affordable for a great upper end meal.

Cooked to Perfection!

If you like red meat and you’re in Huatulco, Mexico then look no further. This is by far the best restaurant in the country to go for a juicy ribeye steak. My wife and I came to Mexico for our honeymoon and have been to Che Dieguito three times in ten days where I’ve had the same meal each time. Why? Because it’s the best tasting steak I’ve ever had. All of the food is cooked over wooden coals, which introduce delicious mouth watering flavours you just won’t experience anywhere else. I don’t know how they do it, but there’s consistency with each and every meal. The atmosphere is romantic and celebratory with offerings of live music and personable staff - Rigo’s a star. The service was spectacular and couldn’t have been better. I highly recommended this place and look forward to my next time.

We each ordered one of the sandwiches which was plenty of food and cooked very nicely with a small serving of fries. Attentive and friendly service and staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere despite a full restaurant and lots of activity. Will go again for sure.

Excellent Meals & Service

We stopped in at the Che Dieguito's new location, right behind the Chadraui Grocery Store a number of times while we were down in the area this year and we really like this new location. We actually stopped in for an early lunch one day and the the lunch dishes were really good, BUT the dinners are where this restaurant shines! The flank steak with grilled veggies (my favorite) was always cooked to perfection, while my wife who also enjoyed the steaks, had a grilled chicken salad one night that (with a glass of red wine) was excellent as well. This restaurant has become quite popular as it was filled up a couple of nights while we were there! Enjoy.

Amazing Argentine Grill Restaurant

Started with two Mezcal Margaritas and two of the best empanadas We’ve ever had. Four cheese and sausage and cheese. We ordered the Pichaña and Sweet Breads with baked potatoes which were both amazing. Sweet Breads I am going to find when I go back to Colorado. Never thought of grilling them. This restaurant was in the top three dinners we had in six weeks traveling the Oaxaca Coast. All of the best food we had was in Huatulco. This restaurant is not to be missed. Exceptional food and service. The Parilla is very cool.

Great quality meat

Fabulous food, we went twice in our 2 week holiday. First visit we shared the platter for 1 with an extra empanada and grilled veg. The meat was perfectly cooked and delicious, the potatoes with bacon cream also great and the grilled vegetables with chimichurri amazing. There was a live singer and she really created a great atmosphere without being overpowering. The 2nd visit we had the mushroom and cheese tart (it’s more of a pie as it has a pastry top) but absolutely amazing! We shared this as a starter it was large and filling so we shared a steak (Cowboy) - perfectly cooked and very good quality. Highly recommend.

Sneaky surprise

This place is tucked away from one of the main roads, but never again hidden from my radar. Two mornings in a row we came to breakfast. The fresh juice blends are tasty. The menu has just enough variety to give you plenty of options, while at the same time not overwhelming. Our server was happy to accommodate substitutes for the orders. She also was thoughtful enough to let us know the cinnamon rolls were taking a while and gave us the option just cancel it. They were worth the wait and part of what prompted this place being the breakfast place for the 2nd day in a row. If you like a cinnamon roll to be just the right amount of flavor and size, this is it. The fresh made helps, and the love is felt in their pastries. Come here when you know you don’t have to rush to the next place. To me, that makes it perfect to enjoy, digest and appreciate the food.

Good place, great environment on the terrace. Our experience was good, but could be better if they would have the meat we wanted to eat. We had to order different 2 times because their stock was out. In Friday night I think they would have all the dishes their offer in the menu, in order to give a five star experience to the customers

The service was spectacular but all of our steaks were undercooked. We were offered 2 cooks medium and medium rare. They came blue and rare. The flavour was spectacular and they would have been cooked to perfection if the steaks has a char on them before lowering heat. Yes we would go back but would be more insistent on the cook temperature. Most taxis had no idea where it was so it is behind the large grocery store in town.

WOW !! what can i say if your are craving Meat? this is your place . best meal of the vacation . outdoor seating the BBQ is outside also you can see them preparing your meal . the wonderful smell will surly getting your hunger going ! The Empanadas were tasty flavorful and reasonable . The beginning appertizer was the meat and cheese plate oh so wonderful nice selection of local meats and cheese . I had the beef short ribs ! OMG the best tasting and seasoned perfectly cooked ! excellent ! we also had the cap steak again perfect ! in every-way. the ceasar salad crisp and fresh ! Service was perfect attentive but never rushed ! to full for dessert ! walk it off later with a stroll into the town . you must try it !!

It is so nice to be travelling and writing reviews again after covid. So, Che Dieguito...this Asado is comparable to any we ate at in Buenos Aires. The empenada was the best we have ever eaten. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The chimmichurri and red sauce were incredible. The servers were all personable. And it was inexpensive.

Disappointed!!

Atmosphere was nice. We were looking forward to a nice anniversary meal. Was disappointed with the steak sandwich, asked for med rare and got well done. Ordered the salad with chicken breast. It had shreds of chicken, which definitely wasn't a whole breast. Probably will not return.

Excellent Steak Meal

While we normally don't think of good steak meals in Mexico, this restaurant is the exception. Their flank steak with the house sauce ("chimmy cheeri" if i'm spelling it correctly, and we took a jar home as it was awesome...), a salad (we get the chico size because they're quite large), the baked potatoes with bacon crème that are soooo fresh, along with their fresh bread and a cold beer is always our choice. Easy to find on Buganbilla Street, next to Mama Mia's. Enjoy.

My husband and I absolutely loved Che Dieguito. The open-air restaurant is charming inside and out and the food is expertly prepared. We shared the sample platter for two and loved everything on our plates. The service was also wonderful.
