This is a great local kinda bar. The food is really good, except they tend to overcook the calamari. The ceviche is always fresh and the Mango Margueritas are yummy. The drink prices are very reasonable $40 pesos house gin & tonic. The staff are all fun and efficient and all the bands are pretty darned good. It's kinda like... More

We first ate here a couple of years ago (2015?) and didn't think it was remarkable, but this time it was great! Generous portions of delicious guacamole. Some of the best tortilla soup in Mazatlan. Good onions rings and delicious shrimp ceviche! The margaritas were tasty with lots of tequila and the prices were very good. We also had a... More

I've eaten here before, and I know it's a favorite of expats, but this last time was horrible. There was exactly one waiter on a Tuesday with the cruise ships in so service was extremely slow but the food was worse. I ordered a chicken burrito, which looked like a quesadilla and only came with chicken on it. Yep, no... More

We stopped for the 2 for 1 margarita special and had some snacks with it. The margaritas were good and the food was decent. Daughter sang karaoke and had fun.

To sum it up: stay away! The location is excellent, the food sub-standard. And once you have suffered through the food, the real pain sets in: Karaoke! A bunch of totally untalented people with no shame worked hard on generating hellish noise, multiplied by powerful loudspeakers. ("We had to take Advil for dessert...") .....it was like a horror movie...

We stumbled across Puerto Viejo after walking from Plaza Machado toward the beach. As we stood on the corner, deciding our next stop/direction, an expat who calls the place his "office" offered assistance or advice. As we chatted, we decided to sit down for some Pacificos and water. We decided to order chicken nachos to share. It's a place frequented... More

If you want to get together with pals on the Malecon, most of the time we just say, "Let's meet at the PV at 4!" It's a great place with attentive staff, most of whom speak some English, so convenient for visitors. For us full timers we know the beer will always be cold and there's a place in the... More

After shopping at a local jewelry store it was recommended that we go here for the sunset. The food and service were good, but nothing special. However, this was a great place for the sunset. Would we go back? Of course. To me average means that it is a descent meal and if in the area at sunset we might... More

I have had only appetizers and bar food here. It was okay. The draw for me is its location and the fact that many North American expatriots congregate here. They also have dark beer on tap.
