Cenaduria Celia is your go-to place for pozole, the filling and flavourful soup made from maiz, chiles and meat. It's got many indoor tables, and you may have to wait a few minutes on busy nights, but the turnover is fairly rapid. Pozole is the main feature, but they also offer excellent enchiladas and other dishes. Free chips and salsa will appear on the table. Staff are pleasant, food is always fresh and tasty, and this cenaduria offers great value for a filling meal. It's worth a visit!

Living near Emiliano Zapata there is no shortage of good, even excellent, restaurants within walking distance. Cenaduria Celia is the place we gravitate to most often when we want comfort food that is consistently good with quick, friendly service. We often get an order of pozole to go to have in the fridge when we want a hearty dish without leaving the house; it's one of those dishes that gets better with a day or two in the fridge. They have other dishes (tacos; chicken) that are just as good and prepared equally quickly. And the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food. Cenaduria Celia's is a great place to eat, with great service that has never disappointed. It can be crowded some evenings, and one has to wait for a table, but it's always been worth the wait. Highly recommended when you want a good, quick meal with pleasant service at an excellent price! By the way, I say it's nearly the best pozole in PV--but that's only because I continue to be amazed and surprised at the quality of food and restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, and I am very partial to the pozole at a place that's not so close (Doña Raquel's) which is probably the equal of Cenaduria Celia's.

This is one of my husbands Favorite restaurants in P V Mexico. He loves Pozole and the tongue Tostito. Although these two dishes don’t suit me I love the flan that Celia makes herself. I tried the tacos tonight and they were fresh and hot. I did enjoy the passion fruit water. The staff is always pleasant. The food is authentic Mexican. Many local people eat at this restaurant.

We finally made it over to Cenaduria Celia after reading about it on previous trips. We went 2 nights in a row, once we found it! It is only open in the evenings from about 7 pm and is always busy, with friendly and efficient service. Excellent home-style cooking, they are best known for their pozole, hearty and delicious. We had the pork pozole the first night, which lived up to it's reputation, and the second night we had them put together a platter (with enchiladas, tacos, sopes and gorditas, along with beans and rich potatoes) for us that we shared, also very tasty. Both meals ended with home-made flan (true creme caramel style), amongst the best I've ever had. Both nights the total bill for 2, with food, 2 beers and 2 flans, was $280 pesos (just over 20$Cdn). We'll be sure to go back on our next visit, and highly recommend it.

We arrived and the place was packed! We waited about 10 minutes then we were both seated 🪑 promptly. I had the pozole (small bowl) and my partner had the enchiladas de pollo. The pozole was delicious! I had the pork to give it a try. I still am fond of the pollo 🐓, just my personal preference. Cerveza were 25 peso each. Our tab was 210 peso which was a bargain. Great meal with service to match!! Give Cenaduria Celia a try, I don’t think that you’ll be disappointed! Look for the flashing light above the sidewalk.

We haven't been to this restaurant in several years so I was looking forward to going back. It was just as good as I remembered and the place hasn't changed except they have an English menu now. Hubby and I both had a small bowl of the pork pozole. Wow! There's so much hominy and pork in the bowl! Just delicious. I also had the manitas (pig's feet). They had the perfect amount of vinegar twang. I will only eat pig's feet here as they are cleaned properly. In total, we had 2 small bowls of pork pozole, 1 pig's feet, 1 beer, 1 large agua fresca, 1 flan and a large order or pork pozole to go. The bill was 313 pesos. That's $17.39 without tip. Where can you eat all of that food for that price? I love this place. I can't wait to return next year.

We make sure to go to Celia's every time we go to Puerto Vallarta because it is one of our favourite places. Portions are generous, flavourful, and served with love. An authentic Mexican experience!

The restaurant listing says “Open now” and lists the hours as 1:30am, which I did find curious, until 10:30pm. My husband and I were looking forward to having the posole and, at 11am on our last day in PV, paid 50 pesos to take a cab there from downtown. We were quite surprised to be told by a pleasant woman, through the iron grate, that they did not open until 6:00pm. So we paid our cab driver another 50 pesos to take us to Fredy’s Tucan and had a lovely meal there.

We moved here from Santa Fe, New Mexico. We had great New Mexican food there, much spicier than here, mostly because of those amazing New Mexico chiles. In PV the Mexican food is usually rather bland. Finally we found what we were looking for, real home cooked Mexican food. You know it's going to be good when most of the customers and local Mexican families. On the weekends, they're waiting outside for a table. It's worth the wait. Excellent enchiladas. Tacos that are so flavorful and different from the street stand ones (which can also be great). And the best posole I've ever had. Honestly, it's not always a favorite of mine. But this stands out and is the best I've ever had. It's not all hominy with a little broth. This is a big bowl of broth (chicken or beef and maybe pork) with lots of meat and the perfect amount of hominy. When we are sick, this is the dish we dream about having. Health in a bowl!! It takes the place of the chicken matzo ball soup I always wanted in New York and LA. They only serve beer and soft drinks so grab a margarita some place along the way if you want. It's a little off the beaten path up near the produce market. They don't open until 7:15-7:30 and are only open a few hours. Treat yourself to a meal that will take you back to old Vallarta when it was a little fishing village. Oh, and it is really cheap. Most choices are under $80MX!

This little place is only open between 7 and 11 pm and often has a line up to get in! Wonderful, fast service with generous portions...the homemade flan is to die for.

This inexpensive and unassuming little eatery offers tasty homemade Mexican food. Only open in the evening with a few indoor tables and a couple out on the sidewalk. Mainly local people eating here but also some tourists. The place is clean and the food is simple with a small menu. Items such as enchiladas and their specialty pozole. You can also get the pozole by the liter to go. Cash only but very inexpensive.

Home cooking at it's best. First night in PV, we were walking by, the place was packed and it smelled SO good, we just walked in. The whole family works there, I mean from Grandma to the grandkids, and everybody in between. Service was perfect, food was amazing, the people were wonderful, it was fresh, clean, and thoroughly enjoyable. With 3 beers, dessert, and a generous tip, it was UNDER $15.00 Cdn for two!
