Le Kliff restaurant offers an experience that garners mixed feedback from its patrons. While the service receives both commendations for its excellence and criticisms for inconsistency, the restaurant's atmosphere is often celebrated for its stunning views and meticulous details, despite occasional distractions. The food at Le Kliff is a culinary adventure, with many guests appreciating the unique flavors, yet some feel the prices are steep, especially when upselling tactics are employed. The location's breathtaking vistas are a highlight, though the view can be marred from certain seats. Overall, the balance of exquisite taste and value is a point of contention among diners.

We arrived at 630pm for our reservation and was swiftly sat down The view from restaurant over the ocean is spectacular and as sunset gets closer the sun setting into the sea on the horizon is amazing. Whilst eating our meal a school of dolphins swam past in the ocean making the setting even more perfect. The martinis are to die for, and we sampled a few, but the favourite has to be the pear Martini. We also tried the mango, passion fruit, coconut and basil martinis all full Of flavour and expertly made. We tried a selection of starters including the avocado salad with grass hoppers, the oysters and another salad with olive oil ice cream - all well presented, flavoursome and delicious For main I had the satay shrimp served with a beet salad which was fresh breaded shrimp on Skewers and my partner had the lobster tail again well presented, well cooked, tender and sat on top Of a potato purée paste A nice selection of deserts we opted for the chocolate lava cake that takes 15 minutes to cook and the passion fruit creme brûlée, the lava cake was delicious but the creme brûlée was even more delicious. For the experience it is reasonably priced and the food and drinks compliment the setting The service was attentive and each dish was fully explained by Balam who did a great job looking after us throughout the meal. If you enjoy good food in the perfect setting then this is the place to visit when in Vallarta.

After 3 continents and numerous countries we have visited, we all agreed that this was the most spectacular design and the environment we all 8 had ever enjoyed in person. The property has several terraces from IP high on the cliff all the way down to the ocean with quite a few special spots along the way. We recommend arriving early to investigate and experience the entire restaurant property and then be prepared for great service and top quality food prepared by highly trained chefs. Balam and his fellow servers provided us the proper blend of attention and privacy. If you desire high quality dining, then it is worth the drive to this location.

Le Kliff was the perfect dinner experience for our family (Potters & Carrolls) of 17! The maitre d' and staff were extremely gracious; they took a great deal of pride in their establishment and we all had a completely wonderful dinner. First, the location is awesome - a 'cliff' overlooking the bay off of Puerto Vallarta...sunset was supremely beautiful and everyone in our party had a great view. Then, the dinner was a 10 - most us had seafood, and the preparation was great. Two thumbs up for the chefs. The waiters/staff were always attentive - I'd give a big thumbs up for Balam, Jairo, and Luis! We arrived at 6:45 pm and essentially closed the place down about 3.5 hours later. Definitely the best dinner experience during our time in Mexico, and one of my favorites of all time. Mucho gracios to everyone at Le Kliff. You will not be disappointed if you choose this one during your stay in Puerto Vallarta. Thanks again, Patrick Carroll

We went to Le Kliff our first night in PV. We were staying right down the road in Boca at Villa Armonia so this was a convenient first dinner. Also, there isn't anything else in the area, so this is really the only dinner spot. Pros: We both had fish dishes, which were great. View was really nice and the cocktails were good. Cons: Really pricey for the area. We got the Tapas and oysters appetizers which were pricey and just ok. Waiter was weird when we tried ordering glasses of wine. Asked for what I wanted (Chardonnay) and he said how about a pinot, stuck with the chardonnay but it tasted like a pinot (no oak profile whatsoever). Got a Chardonnay and a Cab. The Cab was served very chilled. Both wines weren't great, so I'd recommend sticking to cocktails.

We've been coming here for years, but after becoming less and less satisfied with the food, followed by tonight's mess, we won't be back. We were in a party of 8, and we spend well & tip well. The issues, were that they (on numerous occasions tonight), gave our food to the wrong table, to the wrong person at our table, or gave us someone else's food from another table. They also did not bother to ask us about our food after they served it. Some of us ordered the seared tuna main dish, and it wasn't at all as advertised on the menu, it was not good in my opinion, and not how seared tuna should have been cooked (it was chewy, didn't taste fresh, and incredibly disappointing). However, being that no one seemed to care enough to ask about this, or my wife's steak (which wasn't cooked per her request), etc, we weren't able to ask them to fix the issues. Some of the food was good, don't get me wrong, but enough of it wasn't at a level that justified the cost, the work to drive out there, and literally half the table walked out feeling as though it was underwhelming and that the service was incredibly sub par. Some feedback to the staff - always check on your main dishes after setting them down to ensure the food is cooked correctly, it tastes okay, is the correct dish, etc. This should be a given at a place like this. Ensure your staff knows what table food should be delivered to, and who at the table ordered what(especially if someone has food allergies, which someone at our table did). Yes - you handed someone a dish they weren't supposed to have at our table. And finish the meal by asking everyone for feedback. I very much want to give mine, but was ignored. When you take an uneaten dish off our table, ask why it wasn't eaten. Same with drinks. This place used to be very good, but the food just isn't as good as it once was, and this feeling was shared by everyone. Top that off the the poor service, and we just cannot justify coming back.

Hi azilko Thank you for your visit and for taking time to convey to us your observations regarding your experience, We highly value your comments as a way to gauge ourselves on how successfully we are in delivering great clients experiences, Naturally it is disappointing to learn that we did not meet the level of your expectations. It has not been the most assertive way and we regret the situation during your visit. We hope you will give us another chance to regain your confidence as it will be pleasure to welcome you back soon. Sincerely Jose Guzman / Owner

My husband and I went to Le Kliff for our last night in PV. Please note that this restaurant is really far out of town, so if you don't have a car keep that in mind. The hostess was prepared and arranged for our taxi back. Uber took us out there (30 min drive from El Centro) but only Taxis will take you back. Not pricey really, but something to keep in mind. The atmosphere was good, they did a great job of socially distancing and wearing masks. Keep in mind the dining area is outside, but there is a nice breeze that keeps things cooler. We timed our dinner for sunset and the view was beautiful. The food was a bit overpriced for Mexico but tasty. They were doing restaurant week so I was able to get a lot of value for my money when considering the medium to the high caliber of food. If I had to pay full price, the food would not have met muster. Over all a great place, but I have to say that we went to dinner in our hotel the night before (Hacienda San Angel) and the food, view, and service was beyond! We rushed right back to our hotel for coffee and dessert. The price and food is soooo much better there when compared to Le Kliff.

It was my husband's birthday and I called ahead that day to inform them that it was a birthday celebration and that I also wanted a great table. I was told by the gentleman on the phone that it would be taken care of. When we got there we got a table off to the side on a walk way with a partial view. It started to rain and we were moved to another part of the restaurant which had much better tables with the panoramic views. This is what I had asked for ,but did not get until we were forced to move. Then when it came to dessert we ordered the dessert sampler . There were other birthdays so we saw plates with a small cake and a candle and figured we would get that as well. We did not. I complained and the waiter apologized many times and was sincere. When we got the bill there was nothing comped : no dessert or the 2 glasses of wine we ordered. I complained and the waiter said the owner who was there said he could not comp the dessert as it was the most expensive dessert on the menu. I told him that at home in America the manager would comp something for the big mistake as goodwill towards the customer . The food was very good as was our server Fernando. He felt bad about the fact we were so disappointed. The owner obviously did NOT care as we were tourists so we will never go back and will definitely not recommend to our many friends who visit PV consistently to patronize this restaurant. Not smart on his part.

I decided to try it because of the fine reviews on Trip Advisor. I arrrived for lunch at opening time. I was invited to select my table and chose a corner table with a great view. I was offered water - no natural water, only bottled water for 100 pesos. I am a wine drinker. There were very few by the glass selection, but was happy to settle for a glass of Madero Chardonnay for 210 pesos. The wine list while not extensive is Ok but over priced in my estimation. I ordered the steamed mussels, requesting they not be overcooked. I was not told those were frozen mussels! Unheard of in an upscale restaurant. I then ordered a grilled avocado salad which was barely edible. The manager stoppedd by and asked if everything was Ok barely waiting for an answer to return to his conversation with three other waiters. The waiter, Paco was very kind. I did not feel brave enough to attempt a main course. Going to the desserts, aside from the tiramisu and creme brulee, there was an assortment of stange ice-cream - olive oil and avocado among others. I had sampled the avocado ice cream on the salad! The highlight was a visit from a couple of small iguanas. I would never go back for a meal. Perhaps for a drink to enjoy the view, but then again, it is 40 minutes by UBer and you have to geat a cab back to town. No wifi signal to call Uber.

It’s a very beautiful scenic restaurant, The view is beautiful especially when sun is setting , It is a very Romantic setting for couples. Food is very good and has a very good presentation of each plate of food. I did feel the mixed drinks were a little to expensive because in the us we pay maybe $8 for a margarita and I don’t remember if they were $20 or $25 there for a Paloma, Other than that service was great, and atmosphere relaxing,

Stopped by for lunch to experience both the views and menu, our waiter Luis was outstanding, their signature cocktails are a must, I also splurged on their margarita made with premium tequila, very smooth and worth the 425 pesos. My girls had some interesting concoctions, the mariposa and the marea roja, so good. We split a shrimp burger served on a heated rock slab, very good. Well worth the drive, lots of steps to take in the numerous viewing vistas. Definitely a must return.

We were here several years ago, enjoyed it, but it lacked something. Not today. It has had an infrastructure make over and a totally new menu. The views are to die for as always, the service was very attentive, prompt, courteous and helpful. The meal portions spot on, quality amazing, very hot and flavours perfect and it is less than we were paying at Vidanta for lackluster food. We found their pricing here the same as we would expect at home for a top drawer restaurant, maybe a little less. The wine prices were very fair. Good job you guys

We have been to Le Kliff twice now and we won’t be going back. On our first visit, our friends treated us to dinner. The food was very good ( I had the coconut shrimp) and the drinks were delicious ( jalapeño margarita) but the whole experience left all 4 of us with a bad taste in our mouths for several reasons. The waiter was constantly trying to upsell us, he corrected the busboys in front of us, and he was generally trying to push us into ordering more drinks/ food/ dessert. Because the food was good, we decided to give them another shot so we took our our 2 adult kids here when they came to visit. This visit was horrible. Our waiter ( Paco) was RUDE!! My ordered 7 drinks between the 4 of us but we skipped apps because we didn’t want to be too full to enjoy our entrees. The kids shared a salad and we each ordered a full entree which were all delicious. By the time we were handed the dessert menus, we were all too full so we declined. Paco was visibly annoyed and turned around and ripped up the menus where we could hear and see him doing this. My husband snapped a pic of our bill and the next say noticed we were charged for a shot which nobody ordered or received. Not worth my time trying to dispute this charge but hopefully this review saves others from the rude waiter, attempts at upwelling and incorrect charges.

The restaurant is well worth the travel to get there. First impressions do not disappoint. Grand palapa buildings with balcony terraces overlooking rocky ocean outcroppings. Our waiter Balam was extremely helpful explaining the gourmet offerings of menu. The food, the friendly atmosphere, and the beautiful settings are deserving of the excellent reviews. Both Joel, the GM and Cynthia the receptionist were gracious and kind

This is my second time at Le Cliff and once again the experience was amazing. We met our friends from Canada and it is a wonderful place to catch up. Balam was our waiter, assisted by Miguel and Julio. The food was delicious, the service attentive and Balam told us about a humpback whale that had birthed at the bottom of the cliff below our table below the day before. There was also a very cute lemur who followed me around but I warned other diners not to feed him/her as they are wild animals. It is an easy bus ride from Puerto Vallarta to the restaurant and the buses run often.

We arrived for lunch on a Wednesday. The drive from Conchas Chinas to the restaurant just past Mismaloya was scenic, passing the famous Los Arcos rocks on the way. But nothing can prepare you for the view from the restaurant itself, perched high on it's namesake "Kliff", you can see the entire Bay, from Punta Mita to beyond Yelapa. The day was sunny and spectacular. We were a group of 8, and we were quickly ushered to a table. The waiter showed us a specialty drinks menu as well as a martini menu. I ordered a "Mar Azul" - gin with a blue curacao pour at the table - very nice. The other specialty drinks were served with style as well. Ordering for lunch, I opted for two appetizers - the mushroom soup and the grilled oysters. The soup was very good, but the OYSTERS were absolutely remarkable. Hot and smoky, topped with a delicious creamy cheese sauce that didn't overwhelm the flavor of the oysters themselves. Cooked perfectly, not rubbery but delicate. I'd say I wanted more, but the three large oysters plus the soup made a perfect lunch portion for me. The food and service and ambiance all combined into one great experience for me and my friends.
