So many great places to eat so we only got there once during our visit to Zihua this year. Food is always great, nice soft music and great location. Service is very good and a must on places to dine.

My wife and I had a very nice dinner at Rufo's last week. Nice live music, romantic atmosphere and good service. We also took cooking classes at the restaurant which is run by a relative during the day.

My husband and I stopped here for a late dinner. He had the grilled red snapper, and said it was so light and flavorful that he could have had two more! I ordered the grilled pork chop and have never had anything as delicious. If you are visiting Zihua, please make time to visit Rufo's. I can best describe it... More

Dined here with my parents and had a wonderful evening!! The grilled tuna and accompanying veggies were fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced. Best part of the evening was the live music - the guitarist was wonderful and, when Rufo himself joined in for Santana's Oye Como Va, I couldn't help singing along!! Rufo nailed the lead on the song... More

After walking by many times, hearing the music, noticing all the happy customers we finally went in for dinner. Rufo is a charming host, our service was very good & we enjoyed the live music. The ribs were delicious, a better choice than my tuna...but it was fine. Prices were very reasonable so no complaints at all.

We have been coming to Zihua for 9 years now, and never neglect to visit Rufo. He is a great host, with a welcpming smile. The food is grilled over a wood fire. His fish, ribs and pork chop are always top notch. In a city where it's hard to find a bad meal, Rufo's offers a great value. The... More

Friendly spot with lots of atmosphere and great fresh food for a reasonable price. Live music was entertaining but not overwhelming. Would go back.

This place is just down the hill behind Madeira beach on the corner in front of the Taxi stand - it is an outdoor cabana/palapa style restaurant. My only regret is I didn't return and my one dining experience was very late at night after a hellish trip from Sunwing out of Toronto - so I was limited to ordering... More

This restaurant was at the base of the hill behind our rental house on Madera Beach. Half our group ordered the fresh fish and half ordered ribs. Both were delicious. The portions were medium size and I think we each licked our plates clean. The fish was a thin fillet, but they still managed to keep it on the rare... More

From steak to seafood, vegetables to burgers, anything that Rufo can throw on his grill he does -- and to much success, too. The outdoor restaurant fits perfectly with the charcoal grill flavors, fresh corn tortillas and hearty homestyle portions that makes Rufo's so popular. There's often a crowd during high season but it's worth coming early or staying late to get a taste. Rufo is a personable host and takes extra effort to make each customer's experience unique and fully satisfying. He has even been known to bring out a large platter of grilled steak, ribs, fish and shrimp for a group to sample when they can't make up their mind. There isn't a huge bar selection but the margaritas are strong and the beer is cold. On a hot Zihuatanejo night, what more could you ask for?
