My wife and I went here for a late lunch today. We chose a table by the window with a wonder view over the city center. We each ordered a glass of the house wine, she had red and I white. The pours were generous and the wines were quite good. I had a minestrone vegetable soup which was delicious.... More

They have a very good menu, decent wines, great setting (try to get a balcony table or view) - but they also usually only have one waiter and he does all the drink orders and food service. Not an issue on a slow night but terribly behind if they have more than a few tables full of customers.

Honestly, I had pesto pasta and it was fine. The views where you can both look over and look up were gorgeous.

Climb 90 steps up to this place, narrow and steep. A pleasant restaurant with very helpful staff most of whom speak English. Primarily Italian fare, pastas and the like. My friends had lasagna and spaghetti. I was not that hunger and had a salad (sliced tomato, mozzarella cheese and pesto followed by a different version of onion soup. All were... More

I you stay in Guanajuato you should climbed unto this restaurant. The food is very good here and the service is attentive, but I noticed that you will served a little bit more attentive if you a speaking Spanish . This shouldn't be I think. We didn't have any problem there ( speaking Spanish) so we came back three times... More

Good view, good food, good service. We enjoyed our dinner while being serenaded by the Guanajuato "estudiantinas"

Don't get me wrong, the view from this place is spectacular. It must be one of the best in the city. But looking around the restaurant, we were not given the same customer service as others. Often we had to ask for things...shame. Food was good, and would probably recommend but hope you get better service than what we had...

It's a great experience eating at El Gallo Pitagorico. Depending where you seat you can have a great view of the city. I recommend to have pasta and wine. The service is impeccable. The name of the restaurant is inspired by homonymous book written by Juan Bautista Morales between 1842 and 1844.
