I had been here before, so I didn't hesitate to return. This time was for breakfast. Honestly, I prefered lunch. Breakfast was good, served with many choices of fresh juice, coffee, and tea. I chose an omelette, and it was very good, I just prefered...More

Place has amazing views of Zocalo. Hours are odd, they close from 11:00-12:00. Food is good, we encountered Mostly American clientele which we try to avoid. We like to find places that are authentic and not cater to tourist. With that said, we found it...More

Both in hospitality and temperature! Without a reservation we get a fabulous open terrace table with a view of the Templo Mayor from the second floor. Great food and fabulous cocktails. Good service.

We arrived mid afternoon and did not have to wait for a table. With spectacular views I imagine it gets crowded at peak times. We ordered 4 or 5 appetizers plus tres leche cake. The duck tacos with mole sauce and pickled red onions was...More

Great place to grab lunch after visiting the museum. It can be busy - we were fortunate enough to stumble upon it just a few minutes before opening (1p) for lunch and were seated within 10 minutes. Food and beverages were good. Really enjoyed this...More

After a morning of exploration at the Temple de Mayor (Aztec ruins) we spotted an inviting restaurant just across the street with a view to the temple, Central Cathedral and hopefully a refreshing drink. When we arrived the coffee shop beckoned but the smokers sent...More

Description
On the corner of “Republica de Argentina” and “Justo Sierra (Donceles)”, at the roof garden of the popular and traditional bookstore and publisher named “Libreria Porrúa” you can find a contemporary design Restaurant where elements such as vegetation (cacti originating in our Mexico), floors in granite and wood, modern furniture and glass make up its structure. Restaurant El Mayor is a proposal for high gastronomy in the heart of Mexico City Downtown. A multiproposal concept that includes terrace-deli, bar and restaurant with a view unique to the archaeological area of temple Mayor, the backs of the Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as majestic buildings of the Colonial and modern Mexico. The menu is based on classic Mexican food with a contemporary, where ingredients base of our Mexican gastronomic heritage are the main reason for the letter.
