This cafe is away from the main square a bit but worth hunting down for a delicious lunch that is super affordable. We shared 8 veggie tacos and they all hit the spot.

I ordered the menu of the day. It includes a small salad, soup of the day, the tacos of your choice, and a glass of fruit water. $50 pesos total. Great deal.

I SO wanted to try this restaurant. I love spicy, interesting food and have been a strict vegetarian for 40 years. The online reviews have been great. So I finally made it there on my trip to Mexico City last week. There were only 2 couples there, so they weren't really busy. As I don't speak Spanish, i always lead... More

I am not vegetarian, but tryn to incorporate vegetarian food in my diet. I was in Mexico city and a friend recommended this place. I had the vegetarian pozole which is made with the same spices instead of met ( seta mushrooms) are used which give it the same consistency as regular pozole. Although it is a healthy alternative I... More

This is hands-down one of the best veggie places in the city. If you ever felt jealous of your Mexican friends eating all of those tacos and other typical antojitos, have no fear! You've come to the right place. Vege Taco presents all of the typical Mexican foods---flautas, enchiladas, tacos, etc. I specifically recommend the flautas, the tacos de hongos... More

We sadly found this place at the end of our stay in Mexico City -- would have been here every week if we had found it sooner. Huge portions of typical Mexican street fare, all vegetarian (vegan if you ask). Plates heaping with vegetables, wheat gluten "meats" and salsas picantes. You can order things a la carte or choose one... More

Whilst in mexico city, me and my fiance would eat here any time we coul. On our lazy days we would deliberately go to Coyoacan just to go to vegetaco. Its about 3 mins walk from the Zocalo, its extremely cheap, and during the week (ie, not at the weekend) if you buy a meal, rather than just one or... More

this place brings the authentic 'street taco' flavor with all vegetarian and faux meat ingredients. Al pastor, bistec, picadillo.. all good.. all vegetarian. lunch time meal deal was very reasonably priced -- soup, salad, and 3 tacos with a drink. doesn't get better than this. my wife was glad to be able to try the tacos and get a sense... Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
