Moheli offers very good food, but this is not traditional Mexican food. For us, locals, is more a preppy café where you can find writers, artists and other artists. Usual clients go here to drink a tea, a coffee or try desserts while they chat or read. Customer profile depends on the day of the week. On weekdays is ideal... More

After visiting the site and reading reviews I was very excited to try, however it did not live upto the reviews. The salmon special starter was fussy, tasty but really odd, see photo. I ordered the watercress, goats cheese and walnut salad this was aweful! They put so many dried cranberries that it felt like breakfast, the walnuts were sugar-coated... More

This is one of our go-to restaurants when in Coyoacan. Great authentic Mexican selections, including vegetarian-friendly, and great atmosphere. Great place to sit outside in front at small tables. In the evening, for dinner, or when with a group of four or more, we prefer to sit inside at larger tables.

This looks and feels like one of those quintessential neighborhood cafes. Indoor and outdoor seating, authentic and tasty dishes. My favorite stop for chilaquiles with chicken and salsa verde. Literally steps of the main plaza in Coyoacan, this is a great location and a super spot for an informal date.

This is one of my favorite places in Coyoacan, not expensive, tranquile place and delicious food, I love to have breakfast there and other times I enjoy to be there only for a cup of coffee. You have to consider that at certain time (breakfast) it could be crowded, but worth it. It is a small place so it would... More

I've eaten here twice-- it's conveniently located in the center of Coyoacan. You can either have a meal or stop by for a drink and a snack-- Last time I enjoyed some fresh veggies (arranged very artfully!) There is seating both inside and out, free wifi, and attentive service.

we happened on this restaurant while enjoying the afternoon in Coyoacan. We sat outside on the sidewalk, wonderful, attentive service, and a very diverse menu, with choices for all 6 in our group. The crepes with choice of sauce was very special as were the other Italian dishes. Food was fresh, tasty, and hot when served.

After visiting Casa Azul, Frida Kalho's house in Coyoacan, we found Moheli Cafe a little off the beaten track near the neighborhood's main square. We tried their unusual squash blossoms stuffed with goat cheese, which was excellent. The atmosphere was friendly and a little Bohemian, which was nice (being from Portland). The cost wasn't inexpensive, but fair for the exotic... More

Moheli is one of those places you can pop into for a good dinner...without a lot of time and money. The lasagna is delicious!

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
