Walk into Murakamy and you get a sense and flavor of how some local Tokyo-based restaurants look like. The food is delicious and is 100% Japanese. This is important to mention because most Japanese restaurants in Mexico have skewed towards Mexican flavors. The only aspect from Murakamy that does not resemble Japan at all is the quality of its staff.... More

We were a party of 3 and we all appreciate japanese food. We tried a sashimi dish of maguro and salmon that was of excellent quality. We also ordered some udon dish that was not only excellent but also plentyful. I asked for a chirashi sushi that included 8 different fish/seafood items with the rice cooked to perfection. All this... More

Nice and cozy restaurant in Polanco! Service/atmosphere was good. Food: ordered tuna/salmon rolls and the cones. They were good but not deserving of a "5" in my opinion. However, I would go back on a day the chef/owner is there as I was told he makes amazing food. I would return and do recommend it!

The place is simple, cozy, not fancy at all maybe a bit ugly.. waiters are busy as hell, so the treatment is not the best. But the food is awesome.. The prices are reasonable, since you get real good food quality. For me if traditional japanese is what you are looking for, Murakami is the best Japanese restaurant in Mexico... More

I had lunch at Murakami for the first time in May 2016. The place was pretty basic, the Japanese food was pretty much Ok. What I disliked: Waiters were seldom at our table, we had to wave and wave and wave and raise our voice and stand up to go get a waiter to come to our table. Several times.... More

Not related with the writer. I think. . .This restaurant has all the traditional dishes associated with traditional noncommercial japanese cuisine. This is what we sampled: Butara - This is a roasted cut from pork like thick pancetta with pepper and lemon delicious appetizzer. Agedashi - Deepfried Tofu in a delicious sauce with radish Tamago nigiri - Egg cake with... More

I am a big fan of Japanese food and I have been to many japanese restaurants in Mexico City. When I found Murakami I felt like I found heaven. Try fresh sashimi that melts in your mouth. It will make your day. Don't forget the desserts - my fav is frijol mochi and green tea mochi!!! The very best. Period.

Thank Yune
