This was our last stop after a food tour of the La Merced market and it was lovely! We had beautiful table by the window and were able to relax with some drinks and delicious snacks. I had discovered this restaurant on a guided tour to La Merced and finally went for lunch yesterday. The waiter prepared a delicious guacamole at our table, with incredibly fresh grasshoppers. We had a great 25th Anniversary dinner here at Roldan. Sit upstairs, it is quiet but has a pleasant balcony out to the street. Well prepared Mexican food served by some professional and pleasant waiters. This is a quick walk from the Zocalo to a little known street, well worth the detour.

Very nice restaurant for lunch. A bit off the regular path. Good staff. We very much enjoyed our meals. Our guide recommended that we not return alone to the neighborhood during evening hours.

This hidden restaurant opened in a small alley in the merchant neighborhood of La Merced in what used to be a water channel to deliver goods from mainly Xochimilco to the Merced Market. Simple but nicely appointed decoration prepares ourselves for the rich and colorful food mainly based on wonderful local recipes and specialized in stuffed chillies or ¨chiles rellenos¨,... More
