This vast diner style restaurant has a legendary feel. The many waiters hurry briskly through the many aisles in the large sitting area. Food is very good for the price, but it is the vibe that will appeal to the traveler looking for an authentic, every day, local Mexican restaurant on a large scale. Lineups are common, and arriving for... More

Popular place. We had pozole (the small was a perfect size but the large is only a few more pesos) and my husband had a sope (the biggest sope we had ever seen). My only complaint was they were a little stingy with the pozole toppings - we had to ask for everything - lettuce, radish etc. It was a... More

Considering the praise here on TripAdvisor we were expecting something out of the ordinary. Although we had to wait in line to get in (around 15 minutes) the service was quick once seated. However, the food was nothing special but pretty bland. We tried the tostadas with the different salsas, guacamole, and the pozole (both the vegetarian one and the... More

La Casa De Torno is the best restaurant in Mexico City. It is clean, great service, great prices. Locals as well as travelers eat here. I never get sick, or bad food. I have a sensitive digestive system, cannot eat gluten and am careful about where I eat because in my travels, I had not so good experiences in another... More

Given its Zona Rosa location and tourist reputation, I was a little skeptical. The long line deepened my doubts. But the line moves efficiently and one taste of pozole banished all doubts. The version here - available with vegetables, chicken, pork head, pork or a mixture -- has a bit more tomato than some other versions. It's extremely tasty with... More

Ridiculously good pozole. Went here on a friends recommendation and ended up visiting three times on one visit. I imagine the other food is great, but order the pozole.

La Casa De Tono is an amazing place. There are a couple of things that strike you from the moment you arrive. Firstly, I have never waited in line for a restaurant, while still in my car. The line of cars went round the block. When it's your turn, they valet park your car and you go up the steps... More

We arrived at 10:00pm on a week night, and immediately saw a line outside the restaurant, and worried that there would be a long wait. It took literally 5 minutes until we were seated. I have never experienced such prompt and efficient service. Guacamole and chips or tortillas with salsas are brought to the table. The restaurant was full. I... More

We arrived at our hotel (Hotel Geneva) pretty late (11pm) and were starved. We asked for somewhere close by to eat Mexican food. The neighborhood unfortunately is Is filled with fast food (think PizzaHut) and Sanbornes. We were sent to Casa de Tono by the bell guy and were so surprised to find it was packed with locals right in... More

Their food is the best, their service is excellent, and the price is right! Excellent pozole, quesadillas, sopes and flautas.
