Very cool to visit the original Sanborns. It is still a functioning restaurant and general shop. The interior is really beautiful and definitely maintains that historic vibe. We did not eat there, so I cannot comment on the food, but they do have ample rest room on the second d floor, which is good to remember. :)

Now this is a quality restaurant chain you will find on almost every major intersection in Mexico City. The menu is Mexican, with a small dash of American fare. The quality is excellent, and the service always comes with a smile. You just can not go wrong by eating here.

This restaurant is one of a kind, you can spot it from afar, unique in its design. Once inside is traveling back in time, so besides the great, tasty and inexpensive food, we get to enjoy the beautiful and majestic views of historic building.

Beautiful 2 floor building with an amazing painting (mural) by Orozco. We ate in the second floor but did not have the amazing view of the first floor. I ordered the Caldo Tlalpeno which was delicious and Enchiladas Suizas that tested really good as well. I would definitely go back and don't forget to visit the beautiful temple of San... More

Food was excellent! I had the caldo tlalpeño and enchiladas suizas. Service was also top notch. My brother wanted a cold, canned Coke, the server went to buy one since the restaurant only served fountain regular coke. My daughter enjoyed her hamburger. Everyone was pleased with their food.

Well the title says it all. The building is a historical monument that is full of blue tiles and now it is a restaurant and next to the Mexican Post Offices and Bank of Mexico and across the street from Palacio de Bellas Artes.

This is the original Sanborn´s chain. Where it all started. It is a tradition for Mexicans to go to Casa de los Azulejos in downtown Mexico. It is a family restaurant. The place is magnificent. Worth going if you are visiting downtown Mexico

Other than its great location, it is a wonderful place to go and have inexpensive food either with company or by yourself. It is a busy location and we tried several times until we could finally get in. On Sunday's it is a zoo but definitely worth while. I loved their Chilaquiles.

Went for dinner at this historical spot. Beautiful interior with hand painted walls. The restaurant was full but only a short wait to be seated. Menu of traditional Mexican food. Ordered the soup of the day and arrived barely warm. We asked our waitress for some bread and she went to the recently vacated table and took the basket of... More
