Good for a family outing during a weekend for brunch or go w friends or solo on a Thursday night to people watch a relax in the beautiful rose garden. If you are going during the day.. you can cross the street to the Diego Rivera house and venture to the beautiful San Angel flower market. One of Mexico City's... More

Place is lovely! I would only recommend to have a drink, menu hasn't changed, vegetables over cooked, the Chile en Nogada, typical September national dish is PINK! The dish was created to conmemorate Independence Day, it has to be green for the poblano pepper, white from the nut sauce and red for the pomegranate. The colors of our Mexican flag!

This restaurant is not just an iconic historic beautiful place, it also has an outstanding service and amazing food. We were there for lunch with our two kids and enjoyed it completely. We were craving mexican food and this place surpassed our expectations. The house tortilla soup and the The Chicken Breast with Mole was amazing! Can't wait to go... More

A big restaurant with typical Mexican food, gourmet style. Has place for events, big restaurant, bar and garden. Nice food but being gourmet portions are small.

Stunning old building, eat in the courtyard unless its too hot. The staff are plentiful, well trained and great at their jobs. The menu is solidly regional but with some sophisticated twists. Spend a weekend afternoon watching the elite of Mexico City come for a late lunch. Food great, setting great, service great - well worth a visit, but do... More

This has to be one of the prettiest spots in Mexico City. The restaurant surrounds a lush courtyard filled with plants and flowers. It's very popular so reservations are a must. Servers were so nice and attentive! The Aztec soup is a must as is the mole. Great spot for a nice leisurely lunch.

We had originally planned on visiting another well-known hacienda but had two other locals tell us to visit the San Angel Inn instead. We had an amazing experience... our waiters treated us exceptionally well... children were treated with respect and our meal was very nice. Thanksgiving at the San Angel!? Afterwards, we sat outside in the splendid courtyard and enjoyed... More

This is one of the most beautiful places in Mexico City. The gardens, the architecture, the luxurious feel, could all make it ideal. But then there is the food--a 1950s menu with a 1950s approach to cooking. Service--well it started out fine, but then it seemed impossible to get more water, the dessert menu, and the check.

We sat in the courtyard next to the fountain on a cloudy day....the vegetation and flowers all around us were incredible, great landscaping! The service, the food, the wine amd the Ile Flotant for dessert were, as usual cooked to perfection. I had a breast in their home made mole sauce, firger licking good. My friend had the arrachera and... More

Staying in San Angel

Neighbourhood Profile
San Angel
San Ángel is known for its artistic vibe and elegant details displayed throughout its streets, antique residences and haciendas where famous actors like Consuelo Velázquez, Capulina and other prominent families used to live and that have now been turned into beautiful galleries, cafés and restaurants. An array of cultural and artistic activities are organized in the neighborhood, but it is on Saturdays when the San Jacinto Plaza and surroundings really shine as artists gather to exhibit a variety of arts and crafts, from paintings to clothing.
