I have been eating at Catedral since I started visiting Oaxaca and have never been disappointed. Excellent service, topped with delicious food. I enjoyed chicken in a red-type mole sauce, with slivered almonds. Wished I could have licked the bowl clean. My friend had shrimp...More

Each Sunday afternoon, Catedral offers a buffet. They offer a large variety of dishes. The food is tasty, and well presented. The friendly staff, attentively clears the used dishes as you go and get the next portion. The price is reasonable.

This restaurant was highly recommended to us but I found the food to be only ok, the atmosphere a bit stuffy, and the prices very high for Oaxaca. There are much better choices to be had

Great food. Excellent option to try different types of moles but bad option to try mezcal and craft beer.

Yes the service was great but the food might have been about the best we ate in Oaxaca. The atmosphere was a little old school colonial but in a good way. Tablecloths, ornate darker decor but open air! We started with the corn tamale and...More

We sat in the lovely courtyard with a fountain where a talented guitar player serenaded us during dinner. Started off with grilled Oaxaca cheese & beans with a zesty poblano sauce & the Kale salad with apples, dried cranberries, oaxacan cheese & a light vinaigrette....More

No dress code that we noticed. It's an upscale resto though, so people weren't in shorts.

Yes, they still had it in November 2016. The price is about $200 pesos. They told me at the restaurant that it the buffet will continue to be offered: excellent value, good opportunity to try a variety of dishes.
