we had some of the best soup we have ever had here. we could see why it was full (we went to the one inside the city, but i think there is a second one on the outside). the price was very fair, the size of the platters was very large. I will go back each time I am in... More

Nice portions of yummy, hearty soups. A great change from tacos (although they are on the menu). This is a "must" on your eat list when you visit San Cris

We waited in line for 20 minutes at the lunch hour for excellent soups. I had caldo Tlalpeño, my wife had sopa de mole, and the other two had chicken soups. This is a great little place to try in San Cristobal.

We ordered two different soups (can't remember their names) and both of them were delicious, rich in flavor and texture.

This small, friendly restaurant is all about soups. They offer several variations of soups - all of which are representative of Chiapas. The setting is very casual. The wait staff are friendly and facilitating. The bowls of soup are very substantial and the two of us shared one bowl which they gladly split for us. The price for quality is... More

Our first meal in town. Hungry and tired from our red eye fligh, we were greated with a loud welcome from the staff. Soups are served in 2 sizes, large was huge. Lots of choices. Enrique our waiter was pleasant and will give you recommendations if you request them. Very reasonable prices, the variety of hot sauces with chips were... More

If you like soup at all, this is your place. Several varieties are available from vegetarian to a wide assortment of meat bases. We especially enjoyed vegetarian and a spicy beef stew this time. Very casual, very cheap, very delicious. Service is very friendly also. We went twice in two days. Highly recommended.

Most people we talked to seemed to really like this place. I didn't care for my soup, but my husband liked his. One time they had a strolling singer who didn't use an amplifier, and was pleasant. Another time when we passed there was amplified music at a painful level so we went elsewhere. When we entered, a BOOMING "Bienvenidos!"... More

Everyone should try this place at least once. El Caldero serves heart warming soups with authentic Mexican flavour. We tried the chicken with vegetables and beef with vegetables, and the serving size is very large. They also offer tortillas to eat with your soup and corn chips to snack on while you wait, although we didn't have to wait long... More
