After 10 years we’ve decided to come back and try the restaurant as a family. The quality of the provoleta, ravioli, pizza, chorizo was far from acceptable. The place is not exactly cheap for Mexican standards. Will be the last time for us.

Service was very good and food was also very good. This restaurant was light and airy with a very happy ambient. Have been here many times and always found the food to be very good, especially the Steaks.

In a busier part of Veracruz but offering great traditional cuisine at a very reasonable cost (just don't pay in USD cash or the exchange rate will kill you). Friendly caring staff with exceptional service. We visit frequently having never been dissatisfied.

I have eaten here 3 times now with my family and it is a favorite stop when we stay in Veracruz. The staff work hard and deliver your meal to you hot. I like to try new and interesting dishes so I had the octopus...and would recommend this. My wife had the Roquefort robalo. Another dish to recommend. We wish we had a restaurant like this back home in the States. The restaurant can become very busy so you may want to arrive a little early.More

I have been visiting El Gaucho for many years for breakfast, lunch or dinner and every time it is a great experience. The place is very clean. Service is professional and prompt from the moment you enter. Although it is known as a steakhouse, seafood...is as good as anywhere in Veracruz, and mexican breakfast is also excellent and again, as good as anywhere in Veracruz. Visit after visit, service, food and value are consistently high. Beer selection is also very good. Deserves a visit no matter in which part of town you are.More

I was at this restaurant several times over the last 5 years. This October 3 times! It is extremely popular in Veracruz. They open at 7:00 am. for breakfast and I still cannot get used to the idea of getting ready, driving and finding parking...to go for breakfast...but times change and this is what many people do in Mexico these days. So breakfast it was my first time this year. My cousin and I went to her request. She ordered the traditional "picadas". Made of corn dough, much thicker and larger than a tortilla, cooked in a grill, the entire perimeter is pinched to create an edge, sauce is poored with grated cheese, it could be red tomato sauce, or green tomatillo sauce, mole sauce, beans sauce...and she ordered also a "gorda" which is the same round dough but deep fried. It separates in two layers and pops, that is why it is called "gorda" which literary means "fat one". Their breakfast menu is impressive...I had scrambled eggs with turkey ham and beans. It was just delicious...they gave me 2 "michas" - Crusty dinner rolls- but I don't eat white bread any more :- ( I had one more breakfast with 2 friends from high school! They are now physicians AND the waiter greeted them by their names : " good morning Dr. So and So, what do I serve you this morning? " so these brats go there several times per week! So I had eggs with ranchera sauce and refried beans, it was very nice. The last time was dinner with my cousin and her husband. She had the octopus in its ink, he had chicken in mole sauce and I had an Argentinian Dish, "milanesa napolitana con ensalada". It is a breaded beef filet like the German schnitzel, it was fantastic. We had a jar of sangria for all to drink. Gaucho actually means a country man from Argentina and Uruguay. It is incredibly busy any time. There is air conditioner and there are outdoor tables as well. It is very clean and the waiters are very formal, dressed in white suits with a black tie. Some people tell me it is the best restaurant in Veracruz....More

I've been there for breakfast and dinner, it is a good place were locals go and enjoy a good ambient, it is not a fancy place but is clean, well iluminated and is located in Colon ave which is quiet and not much traffic, you...alway get a place to park your vehicle. This place serves tipical argentine cuisine besides local "antojitos" such as "gorditas" and "picadas". I enjoy for breakfast "tortilla española" and of course "lechero" coffee. It has a very good kind of beef meet from "churrasco to asado corto".More
