I went to Cancun for a business trip and one of my coworkers took me there because she was friends with the owner. Lovely place, we had the mushroom souffle, pate, and some other things ( I don't remember because it was 2012) but everything was delicious. Compared to french restaurants in the US, it was a very good deal!... More

If you are willing to spend big dollars in a fancy and snob place not too much about the place in itself and the service go to this place. We had a small portions dinner but very snob service for about $150 US each. It's located downtown Cancun so don't expect nice sea or lagoon views. Good wine list but... More

Best meal we had in Cancun. We went during a tropical storm and everybody had cancelled their reservations, except us! Had the place to ourselves. Enjoyed the experience so much. Just my wife and I, the owner and the Chef. An awful night (due to weather) ended up being the most memorable experience of our trip!

As the previous reviewer wrote, Chef Alain passed away in December. His beloved Sonya operated the restaurant while searching for the perfect chef to continue the traditions of Alain and offer a new perspective on French cuisine. And, finally in late May the adorable French Chef Benjamin arrived! Bravo Sonya! Dinner at Du Mexique is an event within it self.... More

My husband and I had a delightful evening at Du Mexique. The service, the food both presentation and quality & the ambiance (loved the art work and the porch) were wonderful. We had fois gras, a cheese souffle, duck, steak, a great bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and chocolate desserts. I loved our meal, the ambiance, our hostess and my dining... More

We were told about Du Mexique by a friend who visits Cancun yearly and always goes there. It was a wonderully pleasant French restaurant with exceptionally fine food. Sonja, the chef, was very friendly and helpful and explained the entire menu to us. The menu is made up each day, so it's always different. The presentation of the food was... More

My husband and I visited Du Mexique in March and I've been so busy since we returned that I haven't had time to do this review. Honestly, I often forget about writing a review if I don't do it right away, but I know I will NEVER forget our beautiful dining experience at this wonderful restaurant. I've thought about it... Food was EXCELLENT and service was great!! Make a reservation! The restaurant is tiny and adorable! I believe it used to be a home that was converted into a restaurant.

We have traveled annually to Cancun for four years and a look forward to dining at DuMexique at least once, and if possible, twice within our one week stay. Chef/owner Ms. Sonya Grimond maintains the tradition of quality, fresh ingredients and exquisite preparations served in an intimate, romantic and contemporary environment. Chef Sonya serves a maximum of 20 guests an... More
