"Sunset" is located just south of down town and just a 2 minute walk from Park Royal, El Cid Casa Del Mar and Villa Blanca. Forget about spending all day traveling to far away beach clubs that just waste your precious vacation time. You are here in Cozumel so it is time to start relaxing not travelling! "Sunset" has a Dive Shop with full rental gear available including wetsuits. Scuba Dive for the first time! No certification required PADI Certified instructors will teach you how to dive through an official PADI sanctioned Discover Scuba Diving Course. This only takes 2 hours and it's a must do for everyone visiting Cozumel. Not ready to SCUBA try SNUBA SNUBA is a combination of Scuba Diving and Snorkeling, you will feel the same sensation of scuba diving, breathing compressed air underwater, but without all the cumbersome equipment. We are a licensed SNUBA operator and Instructor Training Center, with 7 SNUBA instructors on sight so you can venture in to this new experience at any time. How about Snorkeling? No problem, we have snorkeling guides that will teach you how to be comfortable in the water and accompany you while you are in the water. Directly in front of "Sunset" our water's boast 100 Reef Balls full of life and diversity so you may experience the natural wonders of the underwater world up close when you snorkel or dive. Once you finish in the water it is time to relax under the palapa of our ocean view bar while you have an exotic drink. Then it is time to grab some rays as you receive a massage by our professional masseuse on the water's edge. If you book any activity with us Discover Scuba Diving, SNUBA, or Snorkeling you will receive a FREE 5 minute massage. Watch sunset for 1/2 price

Well known for many weekly specials: 1/2 price burgers on Wed, 1/2 price pizza on Thurs, 2 happy hours every day, etc. We go for the 4-7 happy hour and literally watch the Sunset that they are named after. Food, view, waitstaff and atmosphere always good. Live band, good Bar selections, prompt service.

Great Restaurant

After a 4 year hiatus we returned to Cozumel and HAD to stop by Sunset Restaurant & Bar. We stayed across the street at Palmar Condos in Feb. 2018 and got to know several of the wait staff as we had a couple breakfasts and lunches ((as well as happy hour cocktails) during our stay. We stopped by again in 2019 after we ferried over from Playa Del Carmen and had a great lunch. Once again we met Carlos and Alberto (2 waiters that we befriended the year before) and they remembered us like it was yesterday. Fast forward to Feb. 2023 - we once again stopped in here for breakfast one day during our stay (on the North side of the Island this time) and both Carlos and Alberto were still working there AND once again remembered us. They both are friendly and great waiters and our breakfast was the best we had on the island! We're already thinking about staying at Palmar Condos next year and obviously will dine here again. I could not recommend this place more highly. As I said in an earlier post, the location is perfect and we even saw the green flash back in 2018.

Wedding day after party!

We had a wonderful experience with Sunset Beach Bar. We wanted to host a wedding after party close to our lodging.. Sunset was able to host 80 of our guest with live music and plenty of food & drink! We had an amazing sunset and awesome service. We thank Luisa, Freddy and all the staff for 110% service with a smile. Highly recommend spending time at this great location!

Fantastic location, Fantstic staff, fantastic view

Sunset Restaurant & Bar The Sunset Bar and Restaurant is one of the amazing surprises your find on the Island paradise of Cozumel. The location on the main drag makes this centrally located restaurant a must stop for a sunset beverage. The 2 for 1 (4pm to 7pm) makes this one of the great bargains on the island. Live music by Pineapple Juice band makes a evening cocktail into a “do we really have to leave” experience. The staff is friendly and the polar opposite of the resort hotel pubs. I cannot recommend this restaurant bar enough.

bittersweet, with a lack of common sense

Been many times, its a regular haunt for locals. Great for watching the sunset, the nachos are enormous and great for sharing and they have a decent happy hour. That aside, as a person with health issues I found they were unforgiving, downright mean. Will not give you water to drink, nor allow you to bring your own to keep hydrated. Despite coming with a group of 4-8 people, all eating and drinking at their establishment they caused a scene with my friends when I stepped aside away from restaurant to eat something to manage a diabetic sugar attack, even after explaining I needed to eat something for health reasons. Ruined the evening.

Became our go-to restaurant during our stay

We loved the food (the chicken is amazing in/on anything, the super nachos super for sure, the tacos delicious...!!), took advantage of the daily Happy Hour, enjoyed the live music, and took about a million pictures of the sunset (perfect location for it). Luisa, who happened to be our server almost every time we went, was on top of it. Communication worked well with a mix of Spanish and English on both sides. Looking forward to going back there!

The View is the Redeeming Factor

This place has a great view for sunset and had live musicians for Happy Hour when I was there (a Wednesday). Otherwise, I didn't like it. I was solo and the bartender was grumpy, not welcoming. The drinks were 2 for 1 (from a select list) and I did not like my margarita (too sour), but they wouldn't allow me to choose a different drink from the list for my 2nd round. How silly. The restroom was really gross. Men and women share one big restroom and the urinals are right out in the open (this was very awkward for me). The toilets in the stalls were not clean. I didn't really like Sunset Bar. I recommend The Money Bar instead. They treated me very well there.

Nices views from the restaurant

Nice views and amenities from the restaurant. they had loungers available and we did some shore snorkeling as we couldnt go far since the harbor closed on this date but we made it work. Food is a little pricey but so much cheaper than cabos or Cancun.

Great value and location

We stopped here on a whim and they happened to have a special for 6 beers (mix and match) and nachos for $15. The nachos were so loaded they came with extra chips. The bar sits right over the water where you can watch snorkelers and divers. This place will definitely become a regular stop on our trips to Cozumel.

Exceptional food, customer service and views!

This is my first time to Cozumel and we stopped here at Sunset Restaurant after enjoying the water with Snuba. The food, customer service and views far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend the shrimp tacos, coconut shrimp and mahi mahi ceviche. I’m a real “foodie” after growing up in Chicago and I cannot praise this restaurant enough. Also, Carlos was our server and he was incredible. I almost never write reviews but today I had to after this wonderful experience.

Enjoying sunsets at Sunsets!

We just happened to stop by when we saw the live music, and ended up becoming regulars. The place has a great location giving it an excellent vibe... and the food ain't bad! Everything we ate we enjoyed as much as the live band. Found right on the water on the port side of the island, we watched the cruise ships heading into the sunset while savoring the shrimp, fajitas, and even the 2 for 1 burgers on Wednesday night. Plus there is the benefit of ample street parking. They have seating in the restaurant or downstairs where you can go for a dip, so don't miss your opportunity to experience Sunsets in a while new way!

We stopped here to have a few drinks during our pub crawl. We truly enjoyed it. Fast friendly service. The drinks were 2 for 1. We didn't eat here but from what we could tell, people eating were enjoying the food. We will definitely go back and next time try the food.

Great snorkeling and food

We booked a shore excursion to snorkel from shore through an off-cruise vendor and was very impressed. The guide "EZ" took his time with my mother who was unsteady entering the water. He also helped our entire group and was patient with those needing extra assistance. This was a great family "adventure" from kids to grandparents.

A great place to spend a very windy day.

We had a port of call in Cozumel but the day was cool and very windy so did not want to pay for an excursion. We decided based on trip advisor to take our snorkeling gear and hang out here. The wave were breaking over the wall and never did get to snorkel but enjoyed sitting out in the sun having drinks and a very good seafood ceviche. They had nice bath and changing rooms if you did want to swim.

A little bit of a walk but worth it.

We had margaritas all of them are good and shots of don julio. We also had tacos the mahi-mahi were my favorite. The kids enjoyed smoothies. We also so got in the water which was amazing. If you are looking for a place that doesn’t charge for beach access and is walking distance from the cruise port this is it. Carlos took good care of us making us feel at home not rushed at all. He really made our visit special.
