A good sized establishment with several pleasant rooms and a courtyard. Perhaps more international than Mexican. My half chicken pibil - cooked in banana leaf with mild spices - was fall off the bone tender and tasty. Mrs B found her shrimps to be over cooked and salty. The heavy hand with the salt is an oft repeated comment in... More

This place has a nice atmosphere in the courtyard and we use to enjoy going here. This past weekend we met 4 friends at Portico del Peregrino and it was their first time here. Boy what a disappointment. We always felt rushed here and that didn't change on this night even though we were the only occupied table in the... More

After the theatre we went for late lunch. The service was great. Everybody enjoyed their food. All served hot and came out at the same time. Price was amazing! Garden is very pretty.

I had not been to this restaurant for a couple of years (I am a Merida resident) and returned to find it just as I remembered it. We were five people for a quiet birthday celebration in the patio area, and everyone seemed pleased. My only complaint is that they use an inferior cooking oil, which somewhat interfered with my... We are such boring people. Come to Merida every winter and come to perigrino every month. We are always happy with food and service. They have made some minor tweets to the menu accompaniments that are an improvement. Overall a great local food spot.

I'll make it easy for you: 1. Wide variety of menu items 2. Ambience we loved, sitting in the little courtyard in back 3. Our dishes were delicious: wife had "assorted seafood with garlic, wine and sauce," AKA Zarzuela de mariscos, and I had "fried chicken tacos with Mexican mole sauce" (the black sauce), AKA Enchiladas de Mole. The seafood... More

Honestly, this place was very disappointing...something needs to be done...I mean seriously, just change chef. Everything was too salty, too dry or too oily. The fish was a bit of a disaster. Entrees were somewhat better, but I would not return for that. Good flan. It's a pity, cause the place is neat and the location is good.

Based on trip adviser reviews we had an evening meal here and found it quite acceptable. No complaints; food ok and staff attentive. Easy to find just a short walk from the main square.

the setting is quaint yet lovely, garden dinning and dining room with ac. I had breakfast here on my last day in Merida. Food is delicious, and service is excellent. I was intrigued by the name of the restaurant as anyone who has walked The Camino from France to Santigo De Compostela starts under the Pilgrims Portico. It brought beautiful... More

We came back after a several years, my last review was 2014. The quiet atmosphere is welcome and conversation is quite easy consequently. We were early due to tikets for the Symphony, it is located only a half block on Calle 57 from the Teatro Peon Conteras. We enjoyed a nice ensalata verde, crisp iceburg, tomato, bell pepper, shredded carrots... More
