I had the extreme pleasure of dining at the awkwardly named 2012 Espacios Mayas y Algo Mas last night and was thoroughly delighted by every aspect of my experience. We dined alfresco in an interior courtyard modeled to resemble a ulama court with a vibrant Mayan codex themed mural filling the back wall. Our embarrasing lack of Spanish was not... More

Delicious food, fantastic service, great atmosphere! This was a real gem in Merida. It was a little tricky to find at night but worth the effort. It was recommended to us by our local hosts and did not disappoint at all.

I was staying at a Bohemian hostel on calle 62 called "Nomadas", which is fitting, because I am quite the nomad myself. I was venturing down the street for a snack to eat, and I happened upon this gem, this jewel, and when I was finished, I was comfortably full. I can not remember the waitress who served me there,... When you sometimes get tired of Merida's poc chuc, longaniza, the pibils, and the other carne meals, this is a very pleasing alternative. We ate in the courtyard which simulates a Mayan ballcourt with a giant mural along the back wall. The various soups, salads and entrees we tried were all superb. The smoothies were an excellent surprise. After four-course... More

As a vegan in a land with much meat, I wanted to like this place more than I did. There are a mountain of options for vegetarians and quite a few for vegans. I've been twice and it was decent both times, but not amazing (for vegetarians, I would go to Restaurante Amaro instead, though it is admittedly a bit... More

Cheap prices, small but artistic portions. A lot of microwave running in the kitchen. Nice atmosphere. Nice service. Will be going back for more.

We went there twice during our stay in Merida. On Friday there were live bands playing. It was really nice to hear typical Mexican music. The menu includes vegetarian versions of typical Mexican food, pastas and burgers. The veggieburgers are delicious. The postres (desserts) could be better.

As a vegetarian this place was wonderful to find, and wonderful to eat in as well. I love the fact you see straight into the kitchen where everything is freshmade for you. The fresh fruit juices are a must! The courtyard is very visually mayan and colourful, and the staff were lovely. There is a little shop too, avoid, it... More

Five of the best soups you can imagine, pumpkin, cold avocado, mushroom, etc. This is a great place for vegetarians, I went there with my son who is life-long vegetarian. Having said that, it is also a great place for anyone who just likes good food. We went back four times after our first visit. The food is fabulous, well... More

My partner and I moved to Merida from New York in early March. We are both vegetarian and love 2012. We have eaten there at least 20 times over the last several weeks and still enjoy the experience. The food is flavorful and creative and the service friendly. 2012 is by far our favorite restaurant in town.
