I went several times to Helados Colon during a three days visit. The best flavors of italian ice I tried were: lime, zapote, guayaba. They have great option that are dairy free. Each portion is generous and the price is $ 35 pesos, quite affordable for an excellent sorbet.

Great ice cream in the heat of Merida. Reasonable prices and very good selection. Some native flavors only found here in Yucatán.

Right on the Plaza, old fashioned and fun, this place serves really good ice cream, and looks like it has done so fora long time. The chocolate hits just the right note with its touch of cinnamon, and the coconut ice cream is a national treasure.

We have stopped here along the Paseo de Montejo at least twice. The staff were helpful even in busy times and the ice cream was a lovely respite from the Merida heat. Family friendly and fun to visit.

Oh TripAdvisor reader, I forbid you from leaving Mérida without trying Colon's remarkable helados. The chocolate, laced with canela, is amazing; the elote -- yes, corn ice cream -- is a subtle wonder. On a hot night, there is nothing in the city better than this. Just keep the relentless Paseo de Montejo hawkers at bay.

WE were in Merida two days, and we had to go back to this wonderful place for sorbet. IT was so hot and humid in Merida, but the sorbet made everything better. So refreshing on a very hot afternoon. WE tried the strawberry, peach and coconut, and al were deoicious

We take all of our visitors here after a trip to the center square. My favorite sorbete flavor is coconut. I am craving it right now just thinking about it! The mango, strawberry (fresa) and chocolate are also good. If you are daring you might try the elote (corn) flavor. I would have given this place a 5 but sometimes... More

While you are enjoying the delicious sorbets, which taste exactly like if you were eating a fresh fruit, you can enjoy people watching and a bit of shade on beautiful Paseo Montejo. Love the place!!

The experience having a sorbet in "Sorbeteria Colon" is unique. The taste of the ice creams and sorbets reminds you yout childhood, if you were born in Merida. If not, it transports you to a world of flavors, you will remeber forever! The yucatecan fruits used to prepare them, the way they prepare them, and the relaxed atmosphere, make it... More

We came here (both on Paseo de Montejo & near Cathedral) on almost a daily basis. It's that good! Pineapple, strawberry and watermelon were my favorites.
