It's often hard for vegetarians to find a decent choice in Merida, so as we had a couple in the party we went to the Amaro which has a significant number of veggie dishes as well as some more typical Mexican fare. It's set in...More

We were both happy with our meals and the service. The margarita with cilantro and habenaro was an interesting change from the norm. Picturesque inner court with very ambiance.

The food was good, not great. The portions were rather small, at least the dishes we ordered. The place is nice and cozy. They do have a lot of vegetarian choices which I why we decided to give it a try.

Authentic local favorite in colonial center of the city. Open air dining in the center patio of an historic building. Live, quiet music. Feature local artists.

Amaro is something of an institution in Merida, and is obviously very popular with tourists and with locals. Immediately on entering you can see why - it is very attractively set out, and it bustles with welcoming activity. The menu is comprehensive (very strong on...More

Yes, there was a fab guitar / singer on a little stage. It was not 'traditional' Trouva music when we were there. Hope that helps!
