I highly don’t recommend this place. My friend and I went there for lunch. We were offered a two for 1 drink special and that’s what got our attention. We ordered birra tacos , a short rib sandwich, a can of club soda and 1...drink special. Our server came back and we decided to pay with a card. He was not verbal with the total so I asked was the total he showed me with gratuity included or not. He shook his head yes. I asked again to make sure because I wanted to tip and I realized in Playa restaurants you have to add the tip first not after you run the card. So in US dollars our food was around $56 but with tip it was $71 and some change. The server charged my card in pesos for $1,406.70. I noticed it a few hours later but already left that area. That same night I returned to Patio 8 to speak with the man in charge who sat us and offered us the drink specials. He was not in the same welcoming mood after I stated I think it was a charge issue. He immediately said there is no way I was charged that amount and blamed me. It kept yelling “ IMPOSSIBLE!” I showed him my bank account and statement. He even saw the receipts and what we ordered. I also showed him charges from other extremely well known establishments in Tulum and Playa Del Carmen that I used my card in and how it was just a simple mistake of being charged by his employee in pesos and not US dollars. He didn’t want to hear it nor cared about any of my actual proof how it was a mistake on his end. He angrily rushed my friend out of his business. He got our money and didn’t care about anything else. It’s plenty of great places to eat at with delicious cocktails that aren’t water down on 5th Avenue that respect you and your dollars. Please chose them over here. As a person in the hospitality business this is not how you treat your customers.More

The wife and I had the Tacos , could have been larger portions, and one drink…$76. Expensive! The food was good and the drinks ok. The service was great…

Excellent food, ambiance and service. Drinks were delicious, so was the food. Pizza and burgers my favs and service was super friendly at the bar and the restaurant area. Edgar was super funny and friendly we kept asking for a table were he was working…...btw ask him for a carajillo, you won’t regret it!More

If you love martinis and Gin, this is the best place to go. Edgar and Filiberto (Phil) will be take care of you, really friendly staff. On weekends the have shows as well.

This place is great. Edgar, Claudia, Max, and Angel made us feel so welcome. We like to meet new people and they are like friends but also give great service.

Stopped in here while strolling through playa defo Carmen, watched some American football and had some (delicious) gin Angel was our barman and he was just fantastic, gave us the nicest gin and mixers can’t recommend him highly enough he was just amazing! Would recommend...for a drink if you’re passing !More

Great open air bar and restaurant. Sat at the bar and Edgar is the best bartender. Great knowledge and so entertaining. We stop in every trip.

We had such a good time at Patio 8. Edgar is the best Barman in Playa del Carmen, he is a mixologist and the cocktails are amazing. I recommend this place at 100%.

Great place for a pit stop for tacos and a drink or a full meal. I’ve enjoyed very much Tacos de barbacoa! it was recommended to me and they were delicious!! accompanied with a classic low sugar margarita!! The staff was friendly and very attentive....Surely I will come back!More

One of my favorite restaurants in Playa! I’ve been living here on and off for the past year, their menu changes & switches up to try new [incredible] recipes, sometimes with the same ingredients, just a new fusion. They hookah and 2 big screen TVs....Our waiter Geovani even spoke 5 or 6 languages and was mad funny. Drinks are excellent.More

Just dropped in .never heard of place .first time I'm Mexico lovely friendly staff (even though they couldn't understand us fully .Adam was fab along with all the staff ) got a lovely vibe No pressure selling x

Do not go there for food , service or football.. promise the world delivered 1/4 of it. Asked if football was on and informed yes , so 9 of us entered. After 20 mins the drinks turned up. After another 20 mins the meals cane...out...well some of them did. Those that did come out, well i have to say you would find more taste found in a drowned fly. The bill came out , charging us for all the food ordered ( reconciled against the actual order) and they seemed surprised the food wasnt delivered, even though we asked several times where the rest of the food was.. The manager was called, and after stating the food was incomplete, tasteless, and service appalling, did what all rogue managers would do..simply shrugged his shoulders. AVOID.. over priced and a terrible experience.. another group of 15, also shared the same experience. Spend your well earned money elsewhereMore
