We visited in April 2023 with a large family with kids. They have a pretty large sized seating area that is beautiful integrated with the outdoors so it feels like you are dining in the Forrest. Staff is super friendly. We ordered the following :...2 Jugo grande, 8 water bottles, one bastones, 1 torta jamon, 1 torta pescado, 2 tacos camaron, 1 taco pescado, chips and pico de gio, 2 lentil soups, and 1 pescado xcatic which all came out to $2016 pesos. Honestly the food was very common and bland. We had better tasting dishes for half the price around town. Poor value for what you get and very unimaginative food. Staff was friendly. Not a place I would revisit but also not a place I would 100% avoid. Basic food for tourist prices. They did have a high chair so that was good. Bugs and heat can be a problem although there is a lot of natural shade.More

This place never lets me down, I go at least once or twice a week, I always order the same thing: chalupitas with chicken added and a fresh squeezed juice...I have taken friends here with special allergies, meal plans, etc. and they never say no...to any requests, they really do go the extra mile for their guests, bringing me chicken for my chihuahuas and water. Last visit i needed 2 limes for my business and the close-by convenience stores didn't have any limes in stock, I went back and asked the waiter if he could sell me 2 from the back fruit baskets as time was running out and I was desperate, they said take as many as you want. They really are superb in customer service! Love the food, the service and the ambiente. Will be a forever client!More

La Cueva del Chango is a great place for an intimate dinner with someone special. The restaurant meanders through several rooms/areas roughly centered by a small cenote [Cueva] with a tree growing out of it and with fish and turtles plying it's waters. Absolutely delicious food, excellent service! Our waiter, Daniel, was very knowledgeable of mezcal and he kindly shared some of his knowledge about Mexican drinks and traditions with us. So inspiring, we spent a fantastic evening here and are so grateful to have found this restaurant!

Excellently prepared authentic Mexican food. Go for breakfast! I had the special which was a steak and eggs of sort with chilaquiles as well. Delicious. Fiancée had the chipotle chilaquiles which were also great.

I always come here for the sopes. Highly reccommend! Dont forget to try the guacamole and to drink clamato preparado! Delicous.

The guacamole is the best I have had. The sauces that were provided were so fresh and flavorful. The vegan options were so complex. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed. The shrimp for my entree were cooked perfectly. Definitely one of the best meals I had anywhere.

This restaurant is one block off the beach on a very pretty shaded street. Look for the sign but it’s currently next to the hammock shop. If you’re going on a weekend morning, don’t wait too late or there could be a wait but the...line moves fast. Immediately you will see the lush vegetation, birds, and indigenous structure. I recommend not sitting up front. Instead eating under the structure put you next to a very authentic cocina and the small water feature running through the restaurant. There is vegetation everywhere and continues to the rear seating area. The service is fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating but the staff also hustles to take care of everyone. We were all offered banana or carrot bread at one point The food is great! My wife had the quinoa and fruit bowl but we added yogurt since it was a bit dry (by design). She also had the friend plantains and both were excellent. The fruit juices were incredibly fresh and full of taste. I had the papaya—pina. I also had the chilaquiles and they were great accompanied by four different salsas. Lots of locals were there too.More

Took a day trip to Playa del Carmen and found this place for a quick lunch stop. It was a unique setting, basically a jungle rain forest. We sat next to a small pond with turtles and fish under the center of the palapa. Quick...service and good food makes this a feast for the eyes/senses and stomachMore
