Fantastic mixologist our mixo was Grace tell her your flavor liking and presto done... But all their mixologist is freaking awesome.. I believe the head Mixo is Alex Sanchez.. wow blown away drinks fantastic!! The vibe chill and DJ plays chilled house music Ibiza style and food amazing.. they server food on a chard wood plank.. food is reasonably priced.. Grilled Octopus, Ribeye tostada, Tempura Rock Shrimp, and the short ribs appetizer - All of it was Bomb.. Service is very attentive.. Covid regulations - temperatures check and hand sanitizers before entering.. Been here three times in during our 7 days stay Playa and will definitely coming back one more time before we head back to the states.. Tip: come around 7:00 pm to 8:30 ish if you want to sit at the bar..

Great Woodfire meal

Located in a very picturesque street, this restaurant offers very tasty woodfire menu. Outdoor seating. We were a group of 3 and tried the Grilled Octopus, the grilled veggies, grilled corn and Tuna tostadas. Everything was excellent! Only complaint is that the Grilled Octopus already comes with a ton of grilled veggies and we would have appreciated if our server told us when ordering. Otherwise very recommendable - will for sure visit again.

I can't get enough of this place. We stopped by on a whim (so glad we did) our first trip to Playa and loved their cocktails. Part of the reason we came back to PDC a second time was because of this place. We missed the scenery, atmosphere, and hospitality. You're surrounded by lush trees and tropical plants. The lights are warm and spaced out giving the area a very romantic vibe, along with the local incense they burn. Service is incredibly attentive and they take covid measures seriously. If you get a chance, have Gracia (or Grace) make your drinks. They're FANTASTIC! Their menu drinks are tasty, using fresh and local ingredients. We found this place to make one of the best old fashions in town. My go to was getting a whisky sour, Gracia made it perfectly. The food is delicious, I recommend the rock shrimp. A bowl filled with the freshest shrimp tossed in a delightful spicy sauce. They have a nice selection of appetizers, salads, and main courses. Try to save room for desert if you can! Tip: The upper level restaurant is open Thu-Sun. Make a reservation and request the table in the corner overlooking the restaurant.

Outdoor dining under the trees in a restaurant which focuses on wood fired grill and oven. New twists on Mexican fusion were interesting and tasty. We had pork belly on grilled chayote, baked crust (pizza?) With crumbled chorizo, avocado and cheese, grilled chicken (called Che Carib) with ginger and garlic. All were excellent, portions were generous so we had no room for dessert. We hope to be back!

Best food we've had in Playa.

This place is near the beach with tables surrounded by trees. It's an absolutely gorgeous atmosphere, but the FOOD. The food is professional-level. The cost is similar to an average US restaurant. The menu isn't huge, but they have several specials that aren't there (at least they did when we were there). The Caribbean chicken and rock shrimp were the best thing we've eaten in Playa during the last 2 months. Great service as well and clean bathrooms.

I SO wanted this place to be exceptional. Came with a group of eight with a reservation. We were seated promptly at a cool table away from the bar. Great vibe, great atmosphere. Service wasn’t bad, but not super attentive either. That’s okay, we can adapt. Our waiter mentioned when we ordered entrees that things were served “family style”. We didn’t take too much note of this at the time. Apparently family style means the entrees will appear whenever the kitchen finishes them or feels like making them. I don’t believe anyone’s dinner came out at the same time as anyone else’s and one dish (salmon, can’t be THAT difficult) took well over an hour. I think that dish was forgotten entirely until we inquired. To be fair, we didn’t pay for that after a gentle complaint. If you’re a twosome or maybe four, give it a shot. The food is good, and the vibe is cool. If you’re a larger party I just can’t recommend this to you at all.

Unforgettable evening of food and cocktails!

The owner of Trujillos restaurant agreed to have a Welcome Reception for my son and his fiance which occurred the night before the wedding. It was an incredible evening of cocktails and appetizers and the guests raved about it for days after the celebration. We were offered a range of cocktails and 7 passed appetizers including the sweet corn, the tuna tostadas, the butternut squash tacos, the guacamole with and without the steak rind. The servers worked efficiently throughout the evening insuring that guests were getting enough apps and enough to drink. The favorite of the night were the tuna tostadas with the squash tacos a close second. If you are in Playa del Carmen do not hesitate to come to Trujillos for quality food and quality cocktails and servers who want you to feel welcome and well taken care of. Thank you to Erick and his staff for truly unforgetable night!!!!

Best Bar Program in Playa Del Carmen

My wife and I are from NYC and this bar program rivals the best bars in our neck of the woods, by and large the best cocktails in Playa del Carmen. We went during the beginning of the night and had a chance to chat up Muffin, the bar manager, who's creativity and passion for cocktail design is clearly evident in the genius drinks on the menu. Shoutout also to our bartender Ricardo who recommended the best mezcal cocktail of all time (The Tortuga). That's all on top of the food which is wood fired magic. Don't sleep on this spot if you're in town even for one night.

The drinks, food and place were nice. The problem was the servers. They were trying to sell you the most expensive thing they could. You ask for water and they give you the imported most expensive water in the menu. Of course, tap water was not offered. And so on, with everything.

The place is nice, has good atmosphere, the taste is not bad, but the price is high for what they offer, however we went because we were celebrating a birthday! I got up to approach our waitress discreetly to ask if they sent any desserts or any details for birthdays and answered no, but that we could buy a dessert from the menu and they could put a candle, to which I agreed and said yes, to send one, which NEVER arrived, even on one occasion I pointed out to the waitress the person who was turning and just smiled, Moments later I approached her to ask what had happened and her answer was, she asked me which dessert and since I didn't listen she didn't ask for anything, followed this with no solution and we ran out of dessert as it was late, The truth is disappointing that places like this have such poor service, easy could propose something either a special drink or a prepared shot, with or without alcohol the point was to allude to the birthday we were celebrating, after all we knew that everything has cost.

Visited Trujillo’s last week for my birthday trip. Had made the reservation about a month before and they were very responsive. Once there, We were seated promptly. Great natural vibe in the restaurant, with cool lighting and good house music. The food was great, and the drinks were very impressive ! We had the guac with pork belly, vegetable platter, and short ribs. All good ! The incense they burn, which is the same ones I believe used for cooking give the food a really nice Smokey, sweet taste. The server was nice and very attentive. Would definitely revisit.

It was a stormy late weekday night. This is not a horror story, Trujillos is mostly outdoors and everyone was getting wet except for a few tables and bar seats. A server went above and beyond and setup an umbrella for my wife and I at the bar. The bartender served us delicious and beautiful cocktails and then took our food order. The chef had to restart the grill as we ordered our food Late. The food was delicious and the presentation beautiful. Highly recommend this place.

This place is a reality treat! We enjoyed our experience so much two nights ago we had to return! The food is amazing. First time we shared the Flintstone ribeye, a 19oz beautifully cooked ribeye with corn on the cob. The cocktails superb, service attentively, friendly and engaging. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. It's affordable, al fresco, fine dining. Go ahead and tray yourself! You deserve it. What a wonderful place. Thanks guys

I wish I could say more… we really didn’t get to enjoy anything. My husband and I walked here from our condo on 52nd & 5th. We left our condo wanting to try out this restaurant that’s been recommended to us. We arrived to your empty restaurant at 630 on Wednesday 17th of August. I approached the attendant at the entrance to your restaurant with the chain and asked for a table for 2. I was holding a 16 oz yeti with a straw. It was probably 1/4 full or so from our house. Walking I was trying to stay hydrated in this summer heat. He told me I couldn’t bring my cup inside… I explained it was just water and opened it. He asked if we were going to drinking and then eating and just drinking. I said both as we were there for dinner. He said we could have 1 of the 2 front tables to the left and explained that I needed to finish the water. Chugging my water… I started heading to to the table he directed us to when another employee told me I couldn’t have my cup. Obviously this cup rule is serious. So we left. Why you would want to turn local business away from your restaurant over a little water is beyond me. We literally walked down the block closer to the beach and enjoyed a fabulous dinner with my water at Milos. We won’t be retuning to your unfriendly and unwelcoming restaurant.

This is the best restaurant in Playa del Carmen. The ambiance, the drinks and the food are just PERFECTION ! This is my go to with friends, family, meetings, date night, any occasion is the perfect occasion to go to Trujillos. You HAVE to try the Fresh Tuna Tostata (or anything else on the menu because everything is so delicious). Ask for Alejandro, John or Jason, they are sweethearts and will offer you the best service ever ! Very talented mixologists also. Must try, 100% recommend, 15/10 !
