We love Mateos for their amazing service, especially Virgilio, Noemi, and all of the guys upstairs at the Sunset bar! We visit Tulum frequently and always make Mateos a regular stop, a few nights. Sitting at the bar or upstairs for sunset, I know we...More

So we’ve been trying the fried fish tacos at many restaurants here in Tulum. Husband and I both agree: Mateo’s were the best, hands down. Be sure to add plenty of lime juice and their “special sauce” made for seafood. TO DIE FOR. I couldn’t...More

Can't understand the previous reviews. When grilled all the dishes scent delicious how it's supposed to be when you're grilling. But then before serving everything is buried in cheap and bought sauce. Nothing we tasted in our Yucatan Tour before. Unfortunately the sauce also buried...More

Excellent food, great prices and free parking! Perfect for a casual dinner with friends. Has pool tables and sports style restaurant. Highly recommend. 🙌🏼

In retrospect, I should have taken a pic of the fish tacos but we were famished after walking from the main road (told it was a short walk then an hour later...we arrived) to the beach. We ordered the fish tacos a la plancha. They...More

Food is great. Unfortunately they have the most pathetic service in Tulum. We ordered one item. Fajitas. I kindly asked where our food was 40 minutes after we ordered. They notified us they were still cooking the fajitas. Shockingly, I noticed the waiter mosey his...More

Atmosphere is nice downstairs. Upstairs it's ok. We were shocked at the final tab for this restaurant. It was too expensive for the quality of food we ate. The mixed drinks were expensive. We were disappointed we went after paying the bill.

As we were heading out of Tulum hotel/beach area we decided to stop for a bite to eat. We first noticed to sign for parking (which can be difficult to come by) and the draft beer taps (also something I didn't notice too much). The...More

Food here was ok, found it a bit pricey and the burgers were underdone for our liking...should have asked for well done. Service was good

My husband and I found Mateos near our hotel (Hotel Cataluna, also highly recommended). After an eventful night meeting Ruby, we went back a few days later in search of a venue to watch the Saints/Dirty Birds game on Thanksgiving. We were the first to...More

I'm not Mateo's but I'm pretty sure you just turn up. Only a few restaurants are so fancy you have to book in advance (read:Hartwood but there are so many other really cool places around)!
