Dinner here with friends, with a variety of culinary perspectives. Very nice fish, chicken and pork dinners. Everybody was happy. They serve real margaritas, not the watered down version.

I give this restaurant high marks for the food and ambience, but have to take points off for the service. We made dinner reservations with another couple and the only time they could seat was 9:30pm. We stopped by at 8 to see if they had any cancelations and could seat us earlier. The hostess was very curt and unfriendly... More

This is an upscale restaurant. I would rate it "A" for service and "A" for food and "A" for ambiance. It is pricier than many of the other restaurants in town, but well worth the cost. Our dinner for two cost about $110 USD, with wine and starters and main courses and one dessert. We each had the Butternut Squash... More

An exceptional dining experiece. This is a restaurant that takes pride in the full dining experience, the food, service and atmosphere are all well above average. My husband and I always leave feel impressed and grateful. Professional but not pretentious.

We had a delicious lunch, everything was perfect. I had the butternut squash soup followed by a cheese board and Brussels sprouts salad. Main courses we had tuna tartare salad and the shrimp tacos, delicious does not begin to describe them! Cocktails were extraordinarily good too. The service was excellent and the setting is lovely. I highly recommend this place.

We had a delicious lunch at The Restaurant recently. I had the wonderful pot stickers and salmon with green beans. I would order the same lunch again. We also attended the fun evening Day of the Dead Party. The decorations were fun, the food was great as were the drinks. The atmosphere was friendly and fun. It is one of... More

Sunday brunch at The Restaurant (gotta say it - terrible name!) was delightful. Therefore this was not the full culinary menu or experience, but worth it. Clearly an international perspective with Thai, Chinese, Italian, American, and, of course, Mexican. We had several of them, all well executed. Drinks were excellent, but a bit pricey. The wine list leaned to Mexico,... More

Tucked away behind the parochial church, you can easily miss this place. Once inside, as so often in old mexican cities, the place is massive. The restaurant proper is in a covered courtyard, surroundend nice boutiques. We were there for sunday lunch. The menu is eclictic, to put it mildly, from pancapes via tortillas to pasta. Good wine list. Staff... More

The atmosphere and décor is warm and inviting. The food I found pretty good, the wine list has a decent selection but a bit pricey for what you get. I'd go again but there are other restaurants in town that I prefer to dine at.

We enjoyed everything about our meal at The Restaurant -- the food, variety, atmosphere, service. All excellent. Also, Thursday night is hamburger night. If you crave a good burger at some point in your trip, plan a Thursday here. Delicious and the appetizer offerings are very good. Not cheap, but the food is well worth the price and still much... THE RESTAURANT, housed in one of San Miguel’s most elegantly colonial settings at Sollano 16, opened in February 2008 featuring Chef Donnie Masterton’s world class cuisine. It is located just steps away from the main square of San Miguel de Allende, the prettiest and most restored/written-about Colonial city in all of Mexico. Offering a full bar, it serves lunch and dinner five days a week in a sun-dappled eighteen century Moroccan courtyard, as well as in their elegant dining salon.Serving global comfort good, THE RESTAURANT’s menu reflects the changing seasons with a focus on the simplicity of fine ingredients. The Chef collaborates with local organic growers, dairy farmers and ranchers to procure the freshest, highest quality and responsibly raised product available. Catering to today’s more experienced, adventurous and health conscious diners, The Restaurant will emphasize quality in food and customer service…as well as a more involved relationship with respect to our food and the land it comes from.
