It was all delicious - the flaming creme brulee I had for pudding after dinner was very memorable ! The menu changes throughout the year , and uses local produce where possible.

Great wholesome home cooked food in a really pleasant cosy village pub. Fantastic burgers, Celeriac Soup, and the most amazing mussels - watch out for the garlic. Worth a visit and lovely beach side walk.

We popped into the Masons Arms after a long and windy coastal walk and had a lovely lunch. They have a good choice on the menu from pub classics to an extensive daily specials list. We both opted for the sausages and mash which was really tasty and extremely warming. Only slight negative is that the menu was on the... More

Supper for 4 here on Bonfire Night. Ordered 4 starters. The 4th arrived as we finished the first three. The beer engines were not working properly so the beer came in instalments! Gents lavatories were so littered and wet that I advised a member of staff to clean up before an inspector saw them. Hand drier not working. Fish and... More

We ate in the hotel restaurant on both our nights. An excellent selection on both the normal menu and the specials menu. Lovely atmosphere and good quality food and plenty of it. A good place to eat and very friendly attentive staff.

A group of us stayed here last year and couldn't fault the place, so much so we rebooked to stay again this year. We upgraded and booked 3 of the large rooms across the car park. Can't fault the rooms at all; spacious, clean and well equipped. They are however very pricey at £160 per night. The big let down... More

We stopped in for lunch at the Masons Arms mid-way on our hike along the coast path. As the weather was fine and sunny we were able to dine outside and were happily given both menus to choose from. Fish dishes (whole plaice with crayfish) were particularly good as were the Sunday roast (pork and beef) Some very decent local... More

Description
Nestling in the heart of Branscombe, one of Britain's most picturesque villages, is the award winning, 14th Century, The Masons Arms. This charming thatched Inn dates back to 1350 - a cider house turned country pub - and the men who cut the stone for Exeter Cathedral drank here, hence the name.

With only a leisurely ten minute stroll to Branscombe Beach, The Masons Arms offers an ideal base to escape the stresses of modern life and enjoy the magical vista of sea, beaches and the spectacular walks offered by the ninety five miles of Devon and Dorset's Jurassic Coast.

The authentic interiors ooze character with timber frames, low beamed ceilings, pine cladding, whitewashed walls and a huge roaring log fire. Our award winning Restaurant offers an exciting and creative menu in relaxed fine dining surroundings. The Masons Arms kitchen brigade are dedicated to sourcing the very best of local Dartmoor produce. The cooking is classy yet simple, perfect for a special meal or relaxing Country lunch. We serve as many as six locally brewed bitters and the finest wines from around the world.

The 21 bedrooms at the Masons Arms Branscombe, are cosy, stylish and inviting, blending comfort with character.

The Masons Arms has been awarded a FOUR STAR rating under the Inn category by Quality in Tourism.
