Reservation made few days prior. "Celebration of life" Meeting up with family members from this area for this occasion. Party of eight. My first time in hotel. I was so pleasantly surprised.
Outstanding menu with varied selection. All food was scrumptious, served hot as should be and soups flavorful. Dessert choices YUMMY wish I had one of each. Next Time!!
Service and all staff were outstanding. Certainly made for a most enjoyable afternoon.

Pleasant atmosphere, lovely, helpful staff, Pedro? went the extra mile, especially since it was a special occasion. We were a family of 6, steakpie and the fish and chips were delicious. The veggie burger and the steak and onion sandwich were however very disappointing, both were unfortunately tasteless and lacking. The restaurant was quite busy for a Thursday afternoon which is promising, so we might just have been unlucky. I personally wouldn't return.

We had a wonderful family dinner last night at 108. The kids had the most scrumptious fish and chips (we ordered off the adult’s menu). We ordered the garden salad and curry special. It was so flavourful and delicious. 108 also has the best playroom for the kids. We were able to plop the kids there after their dinner and enjoy a couple of drinks afterwards. Highly recommend.

We held our wedding in this hotel in febuary 2019 everything wasso perfect and very professional and have returned for many meals after and all were a high standard, however last night the staff in the restaurant wernt as professional as previous visits. Then there was the meal we went as a group of three I had a starter what was up to the usual good standard, then we all went for the steak and chips dealwnat was rather disappointing the small portion of chips was not nearly enough containing about 8or9 chips the steak was about 4or5 inches in size but was poor quality with lots of grissle and fat but the peppercorn sauce was good but no other food on your plate it was disappointing,then we started the pudding which was merruang and fresh raspberry s and cream .the meringue was brick hard and certainly not fresh the raspberry sauce overwhelmed the tablespoon of cream,we asked for more cream but then was brouught pouring cream disapointing.my wife is a professional cook and said it was a lazy style of cooking, afterall when it cost 75 pound you expect something good it Wasnt.wont be back.

We visited the hilcroft for my birthday and were looking forward to it but after ordering we waited from 12:30 - 13:30 before we were served our food.
The waitress came to explain the machine never passed the order to the kitchen but there was no apology and when my mother expressed her dissatisfaction with the waitress she laughed it off which I thought was very unprofessional. We were never approached and asked if we wanted another drink after slowly slirping away at our drinks for an hour.
Absolutely horrible service, nothing was taken off the bill as an apology and definetely NO TIP deserved.
We were frequent visitors here and I can say we won't be coming again, such a let down and on my birthday of all days.

I booked the hillcroft for a funeral tea for my daughter which was very disappointing, the food was terrible ! Sandwiches too thick and hard , scones were not very Fresh and although they were meant to come with cream there wasn’t any .people me at the funeral commented on the food not being great and a lot of it was left there also didn’t seem to be anyone in charge with everything! The one positive was it was a lovely setting.
I paid a lot of money for the occasion not worth what we got.

Very disappointed with our visit. Sat us at the window, was so cold, got moved. Ordered food, came back no steak pie! The restaurant wasn't even busy! Ordered fish, my husband ordered haddock mornay @£14.50 each. My fish was greasy and my husband's mornay was half a bit haddock! He often orders this when he's out, first time to have been served half a fish! Won't be back.

Very poor. Slow service for lunch which I could live with had it been worth the wait. Dry meatballs, tasteless fish . Extremely poor quality. Place has went dramatically downhill . Expensive poor quality fare.

Awful! Absolutely awful! Menu is minimal and not even a beef burger on the lunch menu. Worst birthday lunch ever ! No apology for waiting over an hour for a mere sandwich. System failure was the only explanation. No discount offered! Will not be back. I did wonder why it was so quiet. Now we know. Don’t have food here there are so many more local eateries with better food an service

Sirloin steak £27+ we've been there a few times and when we went for the first time after lockdown. We were of the opinion the prices have been well hiked up. We wont be back. My advice find a chippy, its cheaper.

Birthday lunch . Service ok to start, food not the best . Easter Monday, but not that busy.
So couldn’t understand the lack of service. Waited 30 minutes after being given dessert menu for an order to be taken. Apologies from waitress for our wait & not charged for dessert . Won’t be back. Prompt & efficient service is a must as well as good food. Staff lacked direction.

We met some friends for dinner, as the restaurant is part of the Hilcroft Hotel, where we were staying. We also had breakfast as part of our stay. The dinner menu has a reasonable choice, and competitive prices, although we felt that the menu and environment was closer to a good pub restaurant rather than a hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful in catering for allergy restrictions. The food and service was generally good, although tea and coffee orders got mixed with those for another table. Breakfast was the usual buffet and cooked service arrangement with a good range of choices. Overall we felt that if a "Good" rating was available on Tripadvisor, this would be more appropriate than "Very Good"

Had a lovely meal with my daughter tonight fish and chips were lovely and good sized portion but there desserts were so good I got the carrot cake which was so nice my daughter got the meringue which was huge I had a taste and it was delicious the staff are super friendly and polite definitely be coming back 🙂
