Visually the appearance outside and in is challenging! Had we not been introduced to Mehalha's we would have driven right on by. Surprising then they haven't lifted the exterior image to reflect the attraction of the food. The place is basic, quirky I suppose, but...More

I had enquired before we visited Mersea Island about taking the dog in and was advised we could sit outside or in the snug. It was nice to get a response as some places seem to ignore e-mails so don't get our custom. The appearance...More

Until a few minutes beforehand we didn't know where our friend had booked as a surprise. From the outside and to a certain extent the inside, it looks a bit 'earthy'. The toilets are at the rear by going outside. We were fortunate that we...More

We love going here for a Sunday lunch special treat. The fish is always beautifully cooked and the atmosphere relaxed and pleasant. Have just booked again for a fortnight's time - can't wait!

Passed the restaurant a few times thinking it was a café and didn't look very inviting. However once inside its a different matter. The food is wonderful, whether you just want some lunch like a fresh prawn sandwich and some lovely dessert or a full...More

The cafe does have steps leading up into the entrance, so it would be difficult to navigate these. However they do have seating outside. Hope this helps!
