While out exploring, my wife and I became hungry and then we happened upon the Fonda de Santa Clara. From the entryway, the restaurant had an inviting atmosphere. Even though it was at an odd afternoon dining hour, there were a few customers. The person working out front was very personable, plus, the selections of traditional Puebla food shown to... More

We went during "Chile Nogada" season within national holidays. The restaurant can get crowded, so book in advance. The place decoration is folkloric and very interesting, the ambience is great and in our case, waiting time was normal. The service was good, but the food... delicious. Every dish we order was tasty, good portions. The Chile Nogada was among the... More

Enjoyed eating here and everything was well catered for. However....I'm not a fan of mole. Tried it a few times but I can't do the choco sauce on the chicken! Still a great place to try it though.

WE asked our hotel where we should eat an amazing meal and she said Fonda de Santa Clara. So we went there and we were never happy. We were told we must try the Mole. We felt it wasnt very fresh as we have had Mole a few times. We were shocked how quick the food came out it felt... More

I haven't been back to this place in ages, and this time I wanted to show it of to a foreigner so I was glad to see the food was still really good, the place is typical and beautiful.

Do you like to try food you have never eaten before? This is the place to go to. Don't get me wrong, you will have the regular food too. We, my wife and I, like to sample food we would not find at home, some times we like it (and think about how to prepare or at home and how... More

The food here was pretty good. We had just gotten down from climbing Pico De Orizaba, so we were pretty hungry. We ordered 4 appetizers and two main dishes. The mole was awesome specifically the green one. We also had the skirt steak which was pretty good. All the food and two drinks each was about $40. A little on... More

Three of us stopped in this place for a late dinner, arriving probably just as they were hoping to close up. We were warmly welcomed, and quickly given menus in English. The choices were interesting and varied, and all were enjoyable. Good value and nice ambience.

Must try the enchiladas de tres moles which is exquisite. Has a very good service and the guacamole is also very good. The location we chose Av. 3 poniente #920 is by far the best place since it has much more space and I hear even better service.
