Unpretentious, typical, local restaurant, very famous amid travelers along the freeway connecting Germany to Milan. They are extremely fast, efficient and serve excellent mixed salads and very tasty half-chickens in the basket, on a butter/mustard sauce, accompanied by french fries. Don't ask for more or anything different. This people invented the european "chicken fast food" and are sitting on a... More

Went there last Sunday based on a colleague's recommendation.Long queue but ok as we did not book. It was an extreme busy place, was shocked to see the situation was like a chaotic wet market. The waitress was very rude, rolled her eyes when we asked about the menu (being 1st timer). The tables were so closed to each other... More

We wanted to have a bite to eat and chose the 'Shocking' in Attinghausen. It is a large restaurant where since the 1970's nothing seems to have changed. A very tired looking interior full of gnomes and dolls(?). But if the food is good a retro ambiance doesn't disturb us. We had the signature dish: chicken in a basket. We... More

Food: nice chicken but if you consider the fact that the tinny bit of sauce is mainly made by butter -> no rocket science for me Staff: our waitress was crazy incompetent and unfriendly. We were lucky as her shift ended Ambiente: other guests behave like in mcdonalds or an ikea restaurant. Very old furniture and everything smells like old... More

This is a legendary place for Swiss people. It is tradition that every time we go leisure in the northern part of Switzerland we stop by this restaurant! You only have to order one thing, no need to look at the menu. Chicken in a basket with an amazing secret butter sauce. It is a very traditional restaurant and a... More

Good place to stop on your way to Ticino or back from. The chicken was very good loved the spicy sauce, the make really good crispy fries. Now the service is not the best even though it was a slow night when we went we had to wait a longtime to even get a menu. If they improve the service... More

Pouletburg is very famous and we finally visited the place for a quick lunch. To start with thats probably the only valid consideration for this place. We did not reserve for lunch (!) so got a mediocre place on the old plastic table and a artificial leather bench/chair. The whole interior seems like a leftover from the 70´s with some... More

The drive up the A2 from Como to Lucerne is often dreadful with the 3hr+ queues leading to the Gotthard. However it's made worthwhile by this special place. Never has half a fried chicken tasted so good. The butter sauce is to die for. Ignore the negative reviews below- this is not a KFC, it's a traditional (yes a little... More

I red the previous reviews but I think some aren't fair. Yes there is a strange smell at the staircase but it wasn't so bad to mention it! Chicken was cooked amazing and the sauce unique! Chips were nice and tasty and the bread fresh. I drove 2 hours to go there and I will do it again with pleasure!!... More
