Popped in for "tea and cake' after a walk on the beach with our dog. It was near closing time, but the tea and coffee we ordered were not very nice, but the lemon cake was good. The largish teapot had one teabag in it,...More

Went there for our anniversary so pushed the boat out a little and had the full lobster, wow it was stunning! My wife had plaice which was so fresh and unspoilt by any strong sauce. I may have to go back and try the fish...More

Right on the beach at Burton Bradstock, you can sit there under the canvas and enjoy wonderful views of the sea. But it's not cheap. We took a tea, a coffee a bacon sandwich and a sausage sandwich and paid over £16. Mind you both...More

Hugely popular cafe with people travelling some distance to eat there. We had a light lunch one day and breakfast the next. Well worth a visit. Dog friendly.

No idea what the food is like but just having a cup of coffee and watching the world go by in such a beautiful location is hard to beat. We could have stayed for hours. Lovely!

I remember visting the Hive Cove Cafe many, many years ago, so my visit last week left me amazed at how large its grown. Very, very busy, with so many people eating there - its lost some of its 'rustic' charm. However, my family and...More

We've been regular visitors here for many years since it was really just a shed and a flappy tent, and it has been a favourite of ours. But more recently the front of house has become surly and chaotic, led my a truly rude lady...More

They don't accept bookings but they should be quieter this time of year. Don't let that put you off though, it's brilliant.

Description
We’re committed to using fresh, locally sourced seafood - when available we serve fish straight from the very shoreline you’ll be eating on. We offer a wide selection of cakes, biscuits and take away treats. All homemade by Melanie and her team at the Hive Beach Micro Bakery based in Burton Bradstock. We’re happy to accommodate large parties of diners and we’re dog friendly but we don’t take reservations so it’s advisable to arrive a little early for lunch as we do get busy! Please check our website for up to date opening hours because we do open for dinner during the spring and summer season. Whilst we do our best to reduce the risk of cross-contamination in our restaurants, we cannot guarantee that any of our dishes are free from allergens and therefore cannot accept any liability in this respect. We urge customers with any form of allergies to assess their own level of risk and consume dishes at their own risk. Please ask to speak to the chef on duty if you are in need of any assistance in this regard
