We booked a table for four on Bank Holiday Monday which was catered for with no issues. Upon arrival, we were seated moments after sitting down in the waiting area and had drinks and poppadoms within the first five minutes of entering the venue. The food took approximately thirty minutes to arrive; however, all the food came out on time... More

This Indian restaurant os located in a lovely town and occupies a beautiful stone cottage. The food was a let down. The curries were just liquid with barely any meat in. Certainly not good value for money.

It must be 40 years since our first visit here, and the quality of food served has always been top drawer. Very traditional dishes and decorations but always a nice atmosphere. Very good for takeaways too!

We've visited here on 3 or 4 occasions in the last few months and had several take aways. Thank goodness the food is good because the place totally lacks any atmosphere and the staff serving have the personalities of stones in fact they don't seem to have any personality at all, seemed bored, uninterested and downright miserable, borderline rude. However... More

Had a nice(ish) meal here recently if not a bit unusual. My biryani dish was full of pickled garlic bulbs, well I think that's what they were. Very odd and too many of them to pick out. But the rest our our meals were nice. The staff let this place down, they all look so fed up, not a smile... More

Saturday night after a few beers over the road we visited the Samad as we often do. Poppadoms and pickle tray shared between the 4 of us. Beautiful. Mains were all different and my lamb rezalla was beautiful. Side of a paratha to make sure I mopped up the last morcel. All of us said how good the quality was.... More

Started coming here with my Aunt and her family from a young age, 11 or 12. Myself and my Husband now come here regularly. A lovely quiet little place, with excellent food. We also get the odd take out too. One of the best!!!

My wife and I have been visiting Samad Cottage on and off for many years and have never in all that time found it to be wanting. Granted the Jalfrezi, a favorite if mine, was somewhat on the over hot side on our last visit but then that is my palette and it is no big deal leave a few... More

I used to eat here regularly but hadn't been for quite a while until a few weeks ago but thought I'd go and see what it is like now. I was very disappointed. It is a shadow of its former self. It was 7.30 pm and empty when we arrived which is never a good sign. The restaurant itself was... More

My boyfriend, our mutual friend and I went to samads on a Friday evening without a booking. We had a couple of minutes wait for a table but it was nothing to complain about really. When we were seated we were asked immediately if we'd like poppadoms and drinks and we were like we would very much like poppadoms and... More
