If you're in Banff and craving ramen, this the place to visit.
It doesn't take reservations and usually there's a small lineup (even at 6:00 pm on a weeknight) but it's worth wait. The ramen is excellent and a bargain. The staff are charming. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I ate here twice during our 4-day trip to Banff. The restaurant is small and does not take reservations, so sometimes you’ll need to wait for a table (but it’s worth it)! A bowl of flavourful ramen was just what we needed after our hikes. The staff was attentive and friendly. We also appreciated how affordable it was compared to other restaurants in Banff.

This small restaurant is located on the second floor of a shopping mall. We arrived after 2 pm for a late lunch and we still had about a 10 minute wait to be seated. Once we were seated, we noticed that there were only two small tables in the kitchen area and three larger tables in an area up a few stairs. We ordered the Arashi Ramen ($17.95) which was large enough for us to share since we only wanted a small meal. Service was very friendly, and food came to us very quickly.

I went to Ramen Arashi with my family (4 people) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Many people queue up for this restaurant and I don't blame them. It seems as though it might take an eternity to get into the restaurant as there are not many seats, however people filter out quickly and you will end up in the restaurant in no time (around 20-30 mins if the queue reaches the door).
The ramen is exceptional, the waiters and waitresses are all very friendly and there are many ramen varieties to choose from. Due to the room being very hot from all the ramen steam, I would recommend not sitting in the left hand corner ( facing the restaurant) if you are under 150cm because the fan cannot quite reach you. It is amazing for keen ramen eaters, however if you do not like ramen as much than I would recommend going somewhere else as it is a heavy ramen menu.
Overall, I would highly recommend.

Arashi is tucked away on the second floor of a small shopping mall on Banff Ave. It’s a bit hard to find and its more popular with locals than visitors. Not upscale at all, it’s reminiscent of small family ramen shops in Japan. There also are lots of ramen choices, delicious karaage, and other sides. Beer is Sapporo and there is also sake available. Service is fast and our ramen was delicious and plentiful. Line up at the entrance on a first come first served basis.

Recommended to us by our tour guide in Jasper, we had to check here out! We were not disappointed! Quickly seated, there is a great menu choice. Food portions were very generous, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our ramen. Price was also really reasonable, it really feels like a great hidden gem away from the busy-ness of the Banff high street. Definitely recommend!

After seeing the great reviews this place had collected and being huge ramen fans, we had to check this place out. It did not disappoint! We have been to a number of very authentic ramen places before, and this place was the equal of them. Strongly recommend the ramen salad. None of us had ever tried that before, and it was among the best dishes we had. This place has quite a following- it is located upstairs in this older mall that is not at all as accessible as the rest of the restaurants we’ve seen in Banff. In spite of that, there were lines of people waiting to be seated. Their reputation is very well deserved.

We first showed up here on a Thursday night around 6:30 and there was quite a line, so we gave up and came back earlier on the Friday. It was worth returning for.
We ordered Black Arashi Ramen, Black Tantanmen and gyoza. Ramen was very good, though the tantanmen uses cubed pork rather than the normal ground pork for some reason.
I didn't notice that the menu indicated that the gyoza are deep fried, which I like less than pan fried. They were fine, but not really what I wanted.
Staff was attentive and helpful.
Overall a very good experience and meal.

The night we arrived in Banff we went for a stroll down Banff Ave and were overwhelmed with our options. After several days of road tripping, we weren't in the mood for a heavy meal. TA directed us here. It's a small restaurant. You line up on the benches outside to wait for a table. Since they don't have much space, service is fast. I loved the simple Shoyu Ramen. My partner enjoyed the spicy one he had. The Dorayaki was better then the Taiyaki which was a little heavy if you want to have a sweet to end your meal. Meal with 1 appetizer, 2 ramen, 2 desserts, 2 drinks (1 beer) came to $63 Can w/tip.

Like the title says, what more do you want? The variety of broth choices for the ramen was nice; we tried regular Arashi, black arashi, and tonkotsu. We all thought the tonkotsu was the best but none of us would turn down any ramen from here! The servers were all very kind; I hope the restaurant appreciates their hard work!
I plan to eat here again when I return to the area.

Came here for dinner on our way back home. We came just in time as there started a dinner rush line after us. We waited a few minutes before we got a table. The place is quite small so only a few tables at a time.
We have been here a few times and today it did not disappoint. We started with Chicken Karaage and it was really good - rivalling the best karaage we have had this trip. My kids split the Tonkotsu Ramen and they slurped it up. My wife got the Seafood Ramen and she said it was tasty. I ordered my usual Tan Tan and the broth was rich without being over powering.
We definitely will be back here again next time.

very, very disappointed.
i try my very best to shop local. in this case my efforts went unrewarded.
maybe there is a lot to be said for big brand and amazon, you know what you are up against.
i ordered the arashi ramen special, as recommended by staff.........to my disappointment the noodles looked and tasted like they had sat in the sun for days. the pork belly had a rancid smell and taste. i had a hard time stomaching the hardboiled egg, most likely because of the putrid taste i had in my mouth from the pork belly.
to be quite honest, samyang kimchi ramen at 99 cent would have been the better choice and value.
i truly am sorry this wasn't a better experience.

Bit hard to get non-fusion Asian food around so this was a surprise to find. Had the black tantan and seafood ramen. Black tantan was a bit "too much" in terms of heavy flavors but the seafood ramen was really good. Toppings were all on point.
Reasonably priced considering the location as well

We were in Banff for 4 days and came here twice! That’s how good the ramen is!!! It’s probably one of the best ramen we’ve had. Everything is just perfect from the soup base, to the noodle texture and of course all the delicious ingredients of the meat, vege and egg. It’s the ultimate comfort food you need after a good hike!!

I went looking for something other than the typical burger or steak, and I found the best ramen I've ever had in my life. I had the Tan-Tan (3) and it was spicy and perfectly hot with a delicious sesame umami base. I mean, WOW! Well worth the wait! I will probably be back tomorrow! And maybe one more time before I go!
