Really good food here. Three Pharoahs a very interesting and unusual dish. Halibut special also good. Nice ambience too.

While in Banff, I invited a friend to dine with me at the 3 Ravens restaurant as it has a reputation for an exceptionally creative and delicious menu. We were treated to a savoury cheesecake presented on a slate board. A prequel to our Hor’s...d’oeuvres. We started with Braised elk terrine with sweetbreads, quail eggs, red onion jam. Beautifully plated - a flavourful starter. 3 types of gourmet butter accompanied our bread rolls. Mustard honey, mushroom and another Savoury one. At 20 per person for a starter it is dearer than most but it is unique. Next we both chose Roasted Elk Rack. The meat was rare but very tender and the accompanying vegetables (curried chickpea, on tahini paste and a layer of halloumi cheese with grilled eggplants was attractive plated with a tomato emulsion quite unique My only disappointment was the pieces of eggplant they were too tough. For dessert we chose the Haskap berry tart. Panna-cota, lemon curd, almond curd were part of the delightful tasting. Haskaps are a unique berry: the name originating from Japan for this edible blue honey suckle or honey berry that grows wild in every province except BC. Our server,Sarah, was knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. It was a delicious eveningMore

Breathtaking views of Banff while dining at an amazing restaurant! What else can you ask for? The Three Ravens is located at the Banff Learning and Art Centre. Our meal started with a lovely bread service with selection of focaccia, olive bread or plain baguette...with interesting palette of butters. There is an amazing selection of wines our server was well versed with selection, price points and regional wines. There is a selection of sea, land and vegetarian options. I was impressed with the filet of beef with Yorkshire pudding perfectly executed with a surprise of Wagyu beef ragu filling! Food service was professional, courteous and attentive without pretensions. We very much enjoyed a fabulous and memorable dining experience and would highly recommend this restaurant!More

The service, the food, and the view would be awesome ,but we were here at night so it was dark. I know the location is...wonderful,though. If you are looking for elegant dining this is the place to go!! Location and presentation on your plate is what the Three ravens is all about!!! AnthonyMore

We went to this restaurant on Christmas day 2019. We were in Banff on vacation. The restauant is part of a larger complex most likely used for retreats/conferences as there are places to stay at the complex. The restaurant sits on the third story of...the building. There may be views of the Canadian Rockies from the restaurant, however we were there when night had already set in and thus not able to enjoy the view. That said the restaurant is great. The food is outstanding and fit for those who fancy themselves to be, foodies which we do. The portions are not small. The service is great being very attentive. We left with a little edible gift at the end of the night. Not sure if they do this all the time or if this was done as it was Christmas. This is well worth a visit and dinner. Get reservations as it can be difficult to get in if you don't have a reservation. And by the way it has several seating areas so if your a big group you can be seated in your own area.More

Had a spectacular time at Three Ravens. From the moment we walked in and we’re greeted by the reception desk, we were serviced graciously. Our waiter explained each dish in detail and also suggested wines by the glass including some Canadian choices. The chef’s entrees...had wonderful layers of flavors and many various ingredients that not only were colorful, but tasty (sablefish and trout were our choices ) . Highly recommend this restaurant!!More

My family are visiting me from Australia and wanted to go somewhere nice for dinner last night! I have been here for almost 3 months and had heard of this restaurant but hadn’t tried it yet. All of the staff were so lovely, the drinks...were delicious and the food was absolutely spot on! They recommended alternatives for our dietary requirements and catered for them well and without hesitation. It was such a nice atmosphere in there. Would absolutely recommend!More

Gloria G thanks for dining with us at Three Ravens Restaurant and giving us a Five Star Review! I will share your Review with Chef and Staff. Happy New Year, Jim Olver
The food is amazing. We started with the game tartar - it's very different from what a typical tartar tastes like. The bison had big chunks and the sauces were tiny dots on the plates. It was delicious, but the crisps were slightly stale. I...had the beef tenderloin and my husband had the lamb special. Both were cooked impeccably and we're juicy and filling. We had the pecan chocolate dessert with peanut butter ice cream - decadent without being overwhelming. The wait staff was very aware of my gluten allergy and accommodated me with all the food. Very impressed with the food and staffMore

We made a reservation at the Three Ravens for Christmas Eve and got a table for two directly at the window which was beautiful. The atmospehere was very calm and beautiful. The quality of food, wine and service was extraordinary. As we sat down and...let our waitress Lottie know that we were both vegetarians she directed us to the veggie options and offered to make changes to the other dishes if we would prefer that. Lottie guided us very well throughout the whole night. We started off with a nice glass of sparkling wine and the homemade butters (apple-cinnamon, spicy herbs and one christmas version) that came with a selection of bread ans foccacia. This was a welcome on the house as well as the Christmas special homemade eggnog that we received straight after. We chose the salad with homemade breadsticks, aplles and balsamic jus. It was very tastefull and presented in a beautiful way. We then went on with the two vegetarian dishes which were one risotto - absolutely amazing! - with chanterelles and purpel yam and the pasta parpadelle with caramerlized pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Both plates looked incredible and were done to perfection. Very creative cooking! A feast for gums and eyes. We had a lovely dry Pinot Gris from BC with our mains and once we had finished the wine we topped of the evening with a delilcious salted-caramel-chocolate-mousse that came with homemade peanutbutter icecream. It was the perfect size of portion since we were already quite full. The desert was heavenly and again looked very beautiful! After we had finished everything, Lottie brought us two Christmas Muffins as a gift. We had them the next morning for breakfast - they were wonderful as well! Thank you to Lottie and the whole Three Ravens Team. We had a wonderful night!More

Overall, it's as advertised. You wont be disappointed. Perfect example of what Canadian cuisine should be. My only criticism would be that because of the location, it can be pretty sleepy. Granted we ate here Thursday evening around 845pm. If you're looking for a really...lively place I'd say stick closer to banff center. Perhaps on a weekend it would be busier. I was also worried the portion sizes would be really small but the main courses were very large and filling. I have to reccomend the beef tartar. Its not your average tartar. So many delicious and delicate flavors and textures. Berries and mushrooms and dolops of color and sauces. Then definitely get the beef tenderloin or if you are adventurous and want to try the elk it's a good pick too. The service was super friendly (Rebecca was awesome). Definitely top shelf service and cuisine.More

Last evening we enjoyed an excellent pre-concert dinner at the Three Ravens. Just a stone's throw from downtown Banff. Located in one of the beautiful Banff Center buildings. Our highest recommendation is given without qualification.

Spectacular food. The location was beautiful. The service was excellent. We enjoyed chatting with our server Sarah. They had good bourbon...which has been hard to find in Banff. Highly recommend!

The food was exceptional. Each item was carefully considered for flavour and impact in the fish. The portions were perfect. Service from Tom was great! Cannot recommend the food enough. The view is the best in Banff. We had the earliest booking to make the...most of the sunset.More
