Great spot! Our server Rylee was the best. He was a perfect balance of friendly, helpful, relaxed, but not overly chipper and in your face. He also had good taste in music. Cocktails were great, my fave being the Ginger Rabbit. A spirit forward, complex...cocktail that wasn’t too strong while still letting you taste the whiskey. For food, we did an assortment of shareables. Everything was equally good, no weak spots. Would try again to sample the rest of the menu!More

Lacklustre food. Bacon good, eggs cooked very poorly with a fail on both scrambled and fried. It was as if there wasn’t a chef in. Good location and plenty of people watching but that does not set it apart from anywhere in beautiful Banff. Sure...evening service excellent.More

We arrived later into town than we thought so we’re just going to eat there but they were full and I’m so glad they were! We booked last minute reservations at Brazen instead. We had such a great meal! The food was excellent, drinks were...good and service was good. Best meal of our trip so far!More

Went there thinking we will have dinner there! Well we changed our mind as soon we asked the so called Manager a question. Stepped into the restaurant at 6pm. They had "Happy Hours from 4-6pm" so I asked at 2 minutes past 6pm if the..."Happy Hour is still on for us" The answer was NO, sorry it's past 6pm! I'm not sure how she got a Manager job, surely NOT her management skills or her personality. She lost a revenue of around $260.00 (dinner for 2 people). We went and had a drink anyway and we sat there for at least 15 minutes, till I had enough and went to the bar and asked how hard is it to serve customers?More

Attention to detail and immaculate presentation make this a cut above. We opted for three small plates between two rather than two large, and the portions were modest. But the flavours and textures were excellent. Two highlights were the bison skewers and the crème brûlée.

Great food. Fast service. Reasonable prices. We sat in a secluded couples area but if we returned I’d ask to be seated in the main dining area as I think the vibe was more to our liking. The bread and butter was $5 and wasn’t...great. I think it should have been complimentary in any case. More comments on the pics.More

My husband and I just had the best meal of our lives. Shared small plates- pork belly, duck croquettes, stuffed mushrooms, truffle Parmesan potatoes. Out of this world. Mitch took care of us and treated us like family.

Best dining experience we had in Banff. Our server Rylee took great care of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. We would advise ordering for variety as each dish is meant to be shared and Brazen offers so many delectable choices.

Brazen was absolutely fantastic! I had family visiting from Kentucky and Jacob was the absolute best host. Despite being the chef he took time to explain to us the menu and his creative process for developing certain dishes. I most certainly would recommend this restaurant...for quality of food, dining experience and overall ambiance.More

Our small party of three made a reservation at Brazen during a short stop on a tour. We are pleasantly surprised by the outstanding staff that became increasingly busy, yet continued to provide timely, mindful service. The food was wonderful as well - their mimosa...of the month was a grapefruit-vanilla. I know that sounds a bit odd, but it was the best mimosa I’ve had in quite a while. My croquet Madame was absolutely fantastic, with a flavorful bearnaise, thick bread, and ham. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We loved everything about our lunch - evening the beautiful atmosphere here inside, plus a bird’s eye view of the main shopping strip below. I’d definitely come here again, it was well worth it and didn’t feel super touristy which was a huge plus. Thank you for everything!More

Located in the Mount Royal Hotel, Brazen is one of the higher scale restaurants in Banff. We were early for our reservation so the staff was accommodating in letting us sit at their sidewalk café. The outdoor seating is nice located in the pedestrian district...with a beautiful view of the alpine scenes. The feeling changed when we went in for our seating the music in the entry way was a hectic jazz way too loud. The volume dropped some inside but still too much for our taste (we had to shout to talk to each other). Décor was clean, modern, dark tones The menu offered some eclectic sounding tastes. One was Tomatillo Carpaccio-thin slices of tomatillo with whipped burrata, balsamic pearls and basil chiffonade. It was fresh, naturally acidic balanced by the creamy burrata. Quite good, best thing we ate here. Street Corn Pork Ribs sounded interesting-crisp breaded ribs with tequila lime crème fraiche, roasted corn kernels, manchego and cilantro. The “ribs” were in fact the small flat rib tips with a small amount of meat. There was more corn and cheese than meat. The flavors blended but more pork would have been preferred. Duck Croquettes were shredded duck confit in a cornmeal crust similar to a corndog coating. The duck was very dry, the crust too thick. The truffle-dijon aioli added some flavor. The arugula /mushroom mix needed dressing. The Ginger Beef is supposed to be their show stopping main. It is bites of steak in a breaded crust billed as an Asian themed crust with charred shishito peppers and onions in a ginger syrup. The show happens when the plate is brought to the table where brandy is heated with a kitchen torch, poured over the dish and ignited. Other tables watch with “Ohhs and ahhs” but that does not carry to the tasting. Not much Asian flavor, mostly tasting sweet from the syrup. More shisitos than beef and very few onions. The worst let down was the charred broccolini side. Nice flavor but the broccolini had thumb sized, tough stems that needed a steak knife and could not be chewed. At first server tried to make excuses saying it should have just been cut smaller. No, just old and tough. Sent back to the kitchen. At least it was comped on the bill. Chef should have never served it, waiter should have caught it as apparently this was a repeat issue found by another customer, per the waiter. Staff was very friendly, outgoing and willing to work with the situation. Overall, nice looking setting and menu but disappointing on the food. Perhaps got the name from being bold enough to present these dishes. I rarely leave one or two-star reviews, in this case it is warranted. Reservations are required. Parking was not validated.More
