I would give this place a zero rating if I could. Food was overcooked, tasteless and over priced. Mr. Greek has better food than this. We had Chicken Souvlaki and Salmon and both dishes were flavorless. I don't understand the great ratings at all!
Visit this restaurant with a group of 7 friends, 3 of us ordered the Linguini Santorini, and 2 of us got a bunch of cracked mussel shells in the bowl, some of them are small and hard to pick out, and it end up hurting...our teeth and gums a lot. When we asked the waitress and she went to checked with the manager, they said it’s completely normal for this linguini to have cracked shell pieces, and nothing is done, no replacement, no discount on checkout. So BE CAREFUL if you want to order this linguini Santorini.More
We booked this restaurant for our daughter's second birthday while we were visiting Banff. We ordered our children meals and two appies first. The kids meals came out with tiny cups half full of their chosen drinks. Not even 5 minutes after we got our...appetizer our meals came out not giving us time to enjoy our appies at all. Our server then hovered over our table waiting for us to be finished and snatched up each plate the moment we put our forks down. I even said to him that I was feeling rushed but nothing changed. I hadn't even started my drink before he brought the bill and my husband was asked to pay. Very disappointing for a celebration dinner when there are many other fantastic restaurants we could have and should have chosen. We will not be back.More
Visited here on Saturday night with a group of 7 of us. The service was quick, friendly and food was tasty and portions were great for the price. Highlight items and recommendations are: white sangria, calamari, lamb, linguine santorini, chicken souvlaki. All were delicious and...on point. I highly recommend and will return the next time I'm in Banff.More
Delicious food and friendly staff. We had the Pikilia Starter Platter and there were enough portions for 2 to 3 people. You definitely don't need any main course after this one for sure. We have Baklava for dessert and that was really good. The restaurant...needs some upgrades especially the tables and chairs. The chairs were quite uncomfortable. Overall good restaurant and delicious food. We will definitely be back again.More
Very nice Greek place. The servers were very friendly. We didn’t have reservations, but they took our number and said they would text us when a table would be available. The estimated it will be about 40 minutes. But we got a text within 15...minutes.
The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He shared his recommendations. He also told us that the lamb dishes were Halal. We tried the lamb shank and the falafel. Both were delicious and fresh.
The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. Tables are very spaced out right now due to the pandemic loop, which created additional privacy.More
I have been going to the Balkan for several years now and I love this place so much!!!
This afternoon my wife and I went for Fried Feta Balls, Whipped Spicy Feta Dip, Mediterranean Salad, and the Balkan Donair. As usual, they knocked it out...of the park!
The staff also deserves a big thank you, always making us feel at home and taken care of. Job well done!More
As we were heading to Banff for the day I made a reservation for the Balkan Restaurant. There were only 2 spots left 4:15 and 8:30. We decided to skip lunch and head for an early dinner. We were very pleased we did!
We started...with the Fried Feta Balls and the Greek Street Fries. There were 5 good sized feta balls with 6 pita triangles. They were light and very tasty. The Street Fries were huge and so wonderful. I would highly recommend both of these dishes.
For our main dish we had the Greek Bowl with 6 good sized prawns & the Lemon & Herb Lamb Chops. The Greek Bowl was so very tasty. The grilled vegies were soo good. The fried chickpeas melted in my mouth. Again it was a good size portion. The lamb chops were small but there were 5 chops and so there was plenty there along with the rice, carrots and potatoes.
Including the super yummy drinks (we had 2 of each); Ceasar & the Mighty Aphorditie, our bill was $120. We felt the price was very worth the amazing food and great service was very well worth the reservation.More
We started with an appetizer which was pretty good. Then our main meals came.🙁 We ordered the Lamb shank & salmon with greek salad. For the price, the portion size was WAY too small. The lamb was 1 bone only and salmon was an inch...wide with the smallest scope of rice and vegetables. The greek salad was basically unmixed slices of cucumbers, tomatoes with no dressing or flavored juice and the feta wasn't even cut up & was just a block of cheese crowned on the top waiting for us to cut and mix? They only had Baklava for dessert, which was dry & really hard.More
