On a Friday night (8/12/22), I called and asked how long their wait was. Was told it was about 45 minutes. Was put on a wait list. When we got there, I checked in with the hostess to let her know we were there and...she said probably another 30 minute wait, so we went to sit at the bar. After we had our name on the list for about 45 minutes, another couple came in and right next to me the owner asked them if they had called in or made reservations and she said they had not. The owner asked the hostess who was all waiting and she pointed out another couple as first and then us, and then the couple that just came in. He pulled her aside and said something I could not hear, which I know now was to bump the 3rd couple in front of us and they had just come in. Sure enough, the hostess sat the couple in first and then the couple that had just come in when we had been on the wait list for almost an hour. I told the hostess she had made a mistake and she said that the couple that just came in had called in earlier and talked to the owner about getting in. I told her that was a lie for I was right by them when the owner had talked to them and he asked them if they had called and they said no. Told her I didn't appreciate the lies and if that is the kind of way they treat customers, then not sure if I need to come back here again. I am soooooo disappointed in this treatment for we had just started coming here about 2 months ago and really had thought we had found a new favorite place to come and had come there probably 6 times in the past 2 months. Now, not sure we will come back if that is the ethics of the owner to bump people that just came in ahead of those that had been waiting almost an hour. Inexcusable.More

Our hotel along the road didn't offer any dining facilities but we were told we could walk a minute or two down the road and have breakfast here. By declining daily cleaning of our room, we got a voucher to put towards a breakfast here....The dining room was empty when we arrived so the service was fast and attentive. There was plenty of food, nothing that you wouldn't expect - eggs, waffles, sausage (that may have been kept warm a little too long) some fruit salad and pastries and yoghurt. The waffles had definitely been hanging around a while, they were tough and sitting in water, but the fruit salad and yoghurt were really good. Cereals were limited and looked dusty and crushed. I didn't try the pastries but my husband enjoyed his! The dining area was clean but dated. Nice clean restrooms.More

We dined here when visiting Banff during early ski season. Like other establishments it was not too busy. We were impressed with the attention and service. I had a chicken entree which was the best I have ever eaten. The French onion soup was also...very good. My husband enjoyed a gourmet burger.More

We stayed at The Royal Canadian for 2 nights. We had breakfast at The Evergreen restaurant the morning we checked out, and are a little sad we didn't have breakfast the morning before. The menu is not extensive, but there is plenty for everyone to...pick from. Our server, Reine was amazing. The service she provided and how quickly the kitchen got the order out was impressive. The food was delicious. We'll definitely eat here again when we are back in Banff. Looking forward to seeing Reine again with her larger than life personality!More

My husband and I didn’t have time for many large breakfasts on our recent trip to Banff but this was a great choice the one morning we started the day off a little slower. Service was very friendly and the food was tasty and filling.

Being in Alberta, one would expect beef to be good! This was, by far, the worst burger we ever had. Atmosphere of the restaurant is a bit depressing: dark and old decoration. Food is expensive for the quality you get! You can do better elsewhere!

We ordered breakfast ( Room service) in the morning - and after an hour we hadn’t received it, only to be told that the restaurant tried phoning us to ask us how we would like our eggs!! We received no such phone call. After another...30 min- we were told that someone tried to deliver our food but no one was in the room, and we had the same excuse again after another 30 min of waiting!!! We finally gave up and drive down town!! They wasted 2 hours of our time, which I can never get back!!! Such poor service!!! No apologies received!!!! We decided to avoid this restaurant for the rest of the trip!!More

Food was very good. Good high quality ingredients. We made a reservation for a Friday night but it was not required. We were the only people dining there at that time. The menu isn't large but what's there is good food. Atmosphere is a bit...slow. And since we were the only ones there the waiter was a bit more chatty which is not really us. Would definitely recommend this place if traveling to Banff. I had the seafood and chorizo pasta , husband at the feature which was elk short ribs. Came with a lovely carrot soup and a delicious white chocolate dessert that I ended up eating and not sharing.More

I had made reservations way in advance and prompted the restaurant that it was our 30th anniversary dinner. We arrived and it seemed that they didn't have a table for us. They sat us at a table set for 4 - however, there were tables...of 2 available in the restaurant. This table was not situated in the best of spots. We asked to be moved to an empty table for 2 and were told that there was an issue with 'logistics' and would not be able to. We were however, moved. Our service was ok, however, we noticed another couple who arrived later than us, seated at a nicer table for 2, and were even asked if that table was ok. Their food/drink service was quicker than ours, our server seemed busier and thus quite a bit slower. Food was really good, we had their preset menu. pretty good for the price. Drinks were expensive. There was really no acknowledgement of our special night, so a bit disappointed.More

We'd been wanting to try out this place for many years, and the happy hour specials on food drew us in. $10 for 3 sliders, or glazed pork ribs, or elk meatballs or flatbread. Sounded good! Drink specials were nothing too exciting - a dollar...off the bottled beer and house wine... 'meh'. Daily cocktail feature at $10 (reg. $12.50) is a better deal. Ours was Caesar, which my wife had. I went for the Cosmo - not my favourite one but was OK. We had decided on the meatballs and sliders but the waiter strongly suggested we try the glazed ribs as well. Didn't have to twist our arms too hard as I had been eyeing that one but thought maybe another visit... but went for it this time as the waiter kept saying how great it was. Drinks came fairly quickly, but it's a small place in the lounge, and only one other table to look after at first. Food took quite a while but we weren't in a huge hurry. The ribs were probably the most disappointing out of the three - looked like they had just come out of a pressure cooker, so the meat fell off the bone, but looked pale and not glazed. Whatever sauce was put on seemed to melt off to land under the ribs, and we could mostly just taste the pork of the ribs. Kind of fatty, too. Elk meatballs were pretty tasty, on a bed of a tomato-ish sauce. Could have used more of that sauce, and there was a bit of game-iness to it, but that's maybe to be expected from elk. The 3 sliders were the absolute star of the show - we'd return just for those some day! The wasabi one wasn't overpowering with wasabi, just a hint and a tiny bit of heat. For overall flavour I'd say the red pepper one was the tastiest, but everything was excellent, including the buns! Service was very pleasant, but fell behind a bit on the second round of drinks even though there were only 3 tables of 2 to look after, and one was pretty much done by then. If there were better deals on drinks for happy hour, we'd probably be back to try the flatbread and do the sliders again soon! Parking is a little tricky - we circled around and found something on a side street that wasn't too far.More

They claim to have vegetarian (though not specifically vegan options) but I didn't see any on their menu. You might want to try contacting the restaurant directly by phone or via their website.
