The only place in Banff to order ribs - quite simply the best meal of our trip. The atmosphere is great, the beer is tremendous and the staff are friendly.

Beer and a burger type of place. Staff were nice and it was clean, has a good view of the mountain too.

We came here for a birthday party and we're very happy with our service. I enjoyed the elk nachos, very tasty and a large portion! Nice place on the 2nd level in downtown Banff.

The website did not make this look like just a bar and we thought it would be more family appropriate. While the waitstaff was friendly, the atmosphere was just a bar. Food was just okay and overpriced.

I went here for supper on a girls trip. The service was quick and prompt even though it was a fairly busy long weekend. The food was tasty and reasonably priced and we drank several pitchers of delicious sangria.

I was pleased to see some Gluten Free food options, but it was odd that they didn't have any Gluten Free beer! Usually the two, as you would think, go hand in hand. Especially now there are several decent options for gluten free beer, so...More

It's was very busy so we're seated at the back away from the main bar. Which was ok as we didn't want to wait to be seated. The downside was that staff forgot us so the service was very slow.We both had the Bison Burger which...More

We stopped at the second floor Elk and Oarsman after a recent work stint in Banff. Like most pubs in the townsite, it caters to a younger demographic than myself – I think I increased the average age of the clientele by 2 years when...More

A dull bar with a dull selection of beers and dull service. How do so many Canadian bars get away with calling something that isn't a pint a pint?

We tend to head to Banff for the Elk's steak sandwich special as it is of an excellent quality at an amazing price. The Elk always has a good atmosphere and decent service.

Hi Kevin, I was just a patron of the pub but since I live in the Calgary area I gave Elk and Oarsman a call. They stated that 16 year olds can go into the bar but only up until 10 p.m. Good luck with your New Year's plans... More
