Sometimes you go to a restaurant and it’s not so much about the food but it’s about the experience. This place is one of those. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good but this place is not about the food. A great hike, beautiful views and this is the reward. The feeling of accomplishment with a great meal. Homemade bread, homemade chili... the prices are high but when you have to helicopter the supplies in I’m not surprised. $70 for a family of 4 and you get to keep the garbage! (you have to pack out your garbage).

This is what kept us going on our hike, knowing there was a teahouse at the end. It is a lovely, rustic building with a choice of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and water (not refrigerated, as they do not have electricity!) The hot chocolate is delicious and the food is all homemade, it is a limited menu with a choice of 3 sandwiches, soup, a hot dish, tea biscuits with jam & butter plus cake. A great experience!

We arrived at the Plain of Six Glaciers tea house while walking Plain of Six Glaciers – Big Beehive – Lake Agnes Tea House trail. This tea house is much further out and there were maybe a handful of groups at this tea house compared to the very large number of tourists at the lower (easier to hike to) tea house. The scenery is beautiful with a pretty stream running in front of the tea house. There are also outhouses (restrooms) near the tea house. We stopped in the teahouse to drink some tea and bought some biscuits/jam and a cinnamon cake. All the food and tea was quite good. The server was very friendly. If you can do the hike, which is a very beautiful hike, I recommend visiting this tea house.

It's a cool concept to have a teahouse at the top of a hill under the mountains and I liked the set up. There are bathrooms, tables to sit, a stream running through and it was very open and lively. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The reason I've given this establishment a 3/5 rating is because of the choices on the menu. It's basically a vegetarian "restaurant" and doesn't give you too many options. Some of the food options listed don't go into much detail. Many who climb the hills up to the mountain aren't all vegetarian. There should be a selection of meats as well. I tried the chips with salsa and hummus, it was okay, but it just wasn't for me. You need cash, unless you're okay with paying 4.00 for the credit card transaction. Overall, this restaurant needs more options for the wide range of travelers to be more inclusive. Cool location and beautiful view.

We have vacationed in Banff over 6 times and have looked forward to reaching the teahouse after the hike. Unfortunately our visit to the teahouse this year was awful. No one was allowed to sit inside. Everyone sat outside in 40 degree sunny weather. The hummus had unmashed chickpeas and was too spicy. The chili was too spicy. On our prior visits, we received teapots but this time only paper cups of hot tea. The prices were exorbitant. A hummus sandwich, vegetarian chili, chocolate cake and 2 hot teas cost 48 Canadian. They should stop making everything from scratch at the teahouse and make it in town and transport it to the teahouse. Otherwise the service was excellent. Bring your own food and just order the hot tea or hot chocolate.

Well worth the beautiful hike up to this tea house! It’s apparently a gentler walk than to the St Agnes tea house. We sat outside as still warm enough to in September. Delicious cake and hot chocolate served by a very personable young man! There are compost toilets nearby. I would recommend walking up to the viewing point first then reward yourself with a large cake! Look out for the chip monks!!!

We had read about the two teahouses that you can hike to when visiting Lake Louise and decided to go ahead and head to this one, which is farther out. What a unique experience! We had read they only take cash but when we were there, we did see patrons pay with credit cards. We enjoyed our soups and coffee drinks and just soaked in the atmosphere. At one point, one of the managers came out and gave a talk about the teahouse and how they operate. Definitely a unique experience when visiting Lake Louise.

The hike to the Plain of Six Glaciers was unparalleled. Beginning along Lake Louise Lakeshore, we started our hike around 0730, in mid-August. The weather was brisk, so we opted for layers, but the elevation gain did result in losing some of those layers, on the way up. We packed bear spray, rented from the Fairmount Chateau, but concierge did say (most fortunately) none of their guests have ever had to use it. Initially, after the first mile, you’ll observe milky waters flowing into the lake and large rock formations, a boardwalk, mountain waterfall and a wooded forest, as the hike ascends. You can see Lake Louise most of the hike; wildflowers and large rocks (which can become slippery, if it rains) along the trail. The hike up took us around 1.5 hours. The teahouse and staff were charming. We had Yorkshire Tea and tea biscuits, and sat on the upper level, with a stunning view of snow-capped glaciers, wildflowers, and pines. Highly recommend. This was our favorite hike/teahouse experience at Lake Louise!

The idea of the tea house is better than the reality. Overall it was slow, expensive, and small portions. There are plenty of benches to eat on near the creek. If I did this again I'd pack lunch to eat near the creek and just do tea and biscuits at the tea house.

Exceptional experience. Amazing to have this traditional alpine hill station style tea house, run by the same family since the mid-twentieth century. Well worth the hike up, and stop on the way to the glaciers. Cakes, tea, coffee, chilli, lunch, soft drinks and so on. Everything's been brought there by helicopter or sweat and tears!

Bring cash and a bag to carry your garbage out. Beautiful setting to have a nice cup of tea and even a piece of cake after your hike up. Also washrooms at site and table to sit at and have your lunch.

A real treat after a great hike. Hiked to the end of the trail, then backtracked to the Tea House for a snack. We ordered a bit of everything which was fun. Definitely small servings, so we ate every last bite. Not the best food ever, but certainly a fantastic experience. Great to meet Ruby who served us, who happened to be from our hometown in Ontario!

Even though this was pricey, it was a treat to have someone else fix lunch while out on the trail. A nice bonus was having a hot bowl of chili on a cold day.
