Flavorful dishes and friendly environment

Lately it has been harder to find a meal that is worth the cost of eating out. This was such a pleasant surprise and a delicious meal from start to finish! This place serves dishes that are meant to share. Each plate was so thoughtfully made with a balance of textures and flavours. They used locally sourced ingredients. I thought the meal was a great value! The beets in mama ghanoush (zucchini rather than eggplant) coated with mandarin zest and sesame snap chunks was probably my favourite dish but it was so hard to decide. The fresh pasta was phenomenal! The menu changes frequently so there would always be something new to discover here!

Taste delight!

We have been here twice now and it's been fantastic both times. We shared about 5 dishes between the two of us and we were both left full and very satisfied. The flavors from some of the dishes, like the cabbage and the cauliflower and the beets dishes are just amazing, I often crave them because they are so tasty and full of flavour and mouthwatering. There is a nice drinks menu too, with plenty of beer and wine choice, all catering for different budgets. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of white wine with our meal and, I forget which one we tried, but the servers are very knowledgeable so made the suggestion based on what we ordered. We would recommend booking as its always full when we go and you don't want to be disappointed. My only slight issue is that there are a couple of tables for two, near where the cutlery and plate station is, where there are staff always coming and going from which aren't great to sit near because you do lose some of the peace and tranquility which the price deserves. I would highly recommend to come here, even the biggest meat eaters we know LOVE the veggie dishes here and you won't regret whatever you pick!

Eat the Beets

Recently worked in Calgary for two months and came to dinner twice at this gorgeous restaurant with my colleagues. Both times we were really impressed by the food - fantastic produce, especially the vegetables which are rarely the star of the show in this city . We were also particularly impressed by the staff who were charming and courteous - often really sweet and funny but not overbearing at all. I wish we’d visited more often.

Great restaurant but left me hungry

I came here with my friends specifically because this was a vegan/vegetarian focused restaurant. I don’t remember specifically what my friend was but basically the restaurant is vegetable based. Now the service was very good and the restaurant had very cool vibes which appealed to my 22-23 yr old friends. The food was tasty and priced reasonably, so no complaints there. However, I did leave the restaurant hungry even though me and my friends ordered 1 dish per person and appetizers. The dishes are meant to be shared (which we did) so maybe that factored into why I left still hungry. Overall, nice place to hangout and catch up but not to actually eat.

Good Food And Service

This busy restaurant has a somewhat limited menu, but it still has something for everyone. The servings aren’t big. They are almost tapa size, so you can try a few things. I ordered the Grilled Broccolini, the Gigli (Pasta) and the Spring Salmon. The Grilled Broccolini was grilled just right. The Sauce it was placed on top was good. The dish was flavourful. The Gigli had Kale, Pistachio and Grana Padano. I enjoyed this dish as it was flavourful and was a nice Pasta dish to have in the summer. The Spring Salmon was nicely cooked. I found the Sauce it was placed on top a bit too rich and heavy. I found the flavour and heaviness a bit overwhelming. I’m not sure I liked the combination of flavours in this dish. I felt they didn’t compliment each other well. It wasn’t bad in any way, it just wasn’t impressive. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable.

We were planning to visit this place for a while. So finally we did it! I want to give a + just for a meeting hostess (Very kind lady) and inside is a very nice interior. All other experience was terrible. Starting, that we had to ask at least 3 other places and do 3 rounds till we have found the place. OK. On the road there is some road works, so it’s understandable. We have ordered some water and I took the most expensive non-alcohol cocktail in menu. I like visiting different place and have seen many expensive things as well as cheap, so my goal always is price vs quality, but the cocktail that I have got it was… not to say rude.. very strange! It was very small.. like may be 70-100 ml, and tasted like sour lemon/lime water… and for 12$? I would recommend remove that shame out of menu… We waited for a waiter very long (I did even call him and told that we are ready to order) PS. There were no people (may be one table busy) and I suppose there were about 7 or 8 people stuff. So OK. Finally we have got our waiter. After waiting long, hungry, person who just received awful drinkable water for 12 CAD, I was going to order food, and I asked waiter, “really you think that this cocktail is worth 12$???”… the answer that I heard was like “I am not putting prices…” I suppose the waiter is a connection between customer and restaurant office.. Well.. not in this place… I love to experience different places, and I am not just a negative commenter, but here.. I was just shocked with overall feeling. So we paid our undrinkable cocktails, left them and went to a different place. Nobody asked an advice, but if restaurant management will read this comment I strongly advice to educate them.

Enjoyed the experience

Sat at the bar for supper as was full. Fairly comfortable and barman was very friendly and helpful. Had water on the counter in a flash and a drink in our hands a few minutes later. The barman explained how the menu worked and we picked a number of items to share. He also indicated when he thought we had reached an amount of food the two of us could handle. He was right on this. We ordered a vegetable, fish and chicken plates and all were extremely tasty and well prepared/ presented. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Will be back

This restaurant was recommended by several guidebooks so we made early dinner reservations on a Wednesday and walked over from our hotel. It was relatively warm for a September evening so we decided to sit outside. This is a vegetable-forward restaurant but with plenty of meat options. On our waitress's recommendation, we started with an appetizer of tomatoes and whipped feta. The salmon was some of the best we ever had -- crispy on the outside but buttery soft inside. The waitress asked us what brought us there and we mentioned we were taking a trip for our anniversary. She comped us a chocolate cake dessert which was yummy and decadent. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly, casual and absolutely delicious.

Outstanding meal for taste, quality, and service. We chose miso-drizzled salad, chicken cacciatore, Sauv Blanc, and a deadly chocolate-avocado torte--all within fairly low-carb confines. Well, done, Henry (and tall Sean)!

Our three-band supper club like to try somewhere new about once a month. Anything goes as long as the food is good and we aren’t rushed so we can sit and chat. This stands out as one of the most memorable. While some of the combinations on the menu sound a little weird, they really do work. And the butterscotch pudding is the die for (and I don’t usually do dessert)

Wow! What a great meal!

My son and I visited Calgary from the US. We stubbled in here and were lucky to get a table for two. Arguably the best meal that I’ve ever had in my life!!! Each entrée is shared tapas style. The service from the waiter was impeccable, even though they were very busy and rushed. The maître d’ was busy, but she worked hard to find my son and I a table. We started with the tomatoes on a creamy feta cheese base with a dill and fresh parsley, along with some toast. It was so amazing. It just blew my mind. We follow that up with scallops on a mint sauce that was paired with some vegetable slices marinated in lemon. Again this was just amazing. We followed that with the Thai chicken and a spicy cauliflower topped off, finally with some desserts. The vibe of the place is lively and the crowd is eclectic. It didn’t feel stuffy. It just felt fun. Kudos to the people who run this place. The food is very creative. The help is motivated and works hard to take care of people. Getting staff today is hard and getting a good staff is even harder. You have a world class staff that made us feel impressed and welcome. if I ever come back to Calgary, this will be my first stop.

OK, when we looked at the menu, we were a little bemused. At the head of the menu was a list of 12 vegetable menus followed by 3 pasta ones and then a mix of 7 seafood , poultry and meat dishes. Asking for help by the waitress - was excellent throughout - she explained that it was a bit like a tapas menu but with the size per dish being bigger than normally offered for tapas. She suggested kicking off with 3 with the ability to have a fourth if wanted. So, we went with three, these being the grilled broccolini served with tomatoes and hazelnuts, the seared scallops served with cucumber and crispy tortilla and finally the flatiron steak served with truffle Dijon and gai choy. All 3 were excellent and plentiful which negated the need for a fourth option. A decent bottle of red was a good accompaniment. We thoroughly enjoyed it, the whole evening be enhanced by the staff we met. Would recommend it to anyone!

Got a recommendation from a friend and was pleased. Sat at an outside table to enjoy the sunshine. Our server was very attentive and we quickly got a glass of chardonnay and an alcoholic ginger beer. Both were very good. The spaghetti dish was tasty and the pasta was excellent. Really enjoyed the toast appetizer. Would certainly return.

Do not skip this magical and unassuming restaurant!

Even better than the expected! Ten Foot Henry was remarkable and, with each course, better than before. Small but sufficient plates of succulent food were served. Each was genuinely special in preparation and in taste. Hint: do not skip dessert. The butterscotch dessert is stupendous. They kindly serve full size and “mini” if you don’t want to order the whole thing. Service was also stellar. One of my new favorites!!

Ate at Ten Foot Henry last night for date night and sat at the counter at the bar. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Calgary. Conor was our bartender and we could not have asked for better service. He was the perfect mix of helpful and attentive while respectful of our space. He had great food and drink recommendations. We shared potatoes, broccolini, Cacio e Pepe, scallops, with coconut cake and butterscotch pudding for dessert. The scallops were so good we ordered a second order and cleaned the bottom of the bowl of the butterscotch pudding. During dessert, Conor introduced us to different Sherrys including manzanilla (meant for dinner with seafood), which we quite enjoyed. Overall an amazing experience and we look forward to going back, hopefully with Conor to help us out again!
