My son drove from the Okanagan, arriving in time to watch the Raptor's last game and he was adamant: find a good sports bar with sound. I phoned around to a few bars on 17th and chose 1410. It was a fabulous evening from start...to finish. I have some mobility issues and am always concerned about entry stairs or finding the bathroom through a maze of dark tables, but there was none of that here. We sat at the bar w/ the TV right above us and the bartender gave us excellent service. We ate and drank and my son, who lives in Montreal and knows a thing or two about good bars, declared the Old-Fashioned cocktails to be excellent (he had 3). We had mains and appies for dinner and even though the Raptors lost, we had a wonderful evening out.More

warm Friday evening, good beer, great food (the Grale burger is superb, fries good, hadn't seen anything like the Japanese beef bites before and the spicy shrimp excellent) wonderful service (thanks Nicole), and a roof top that has everything from a bar close by, washrooms,...heaters (not needed on our night) and lights to keep the evening going. We'll be backMore

Excellent outing for 6 of us on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The hostess, server, drinks and snacks were all excellent and made for a happy Happy Hour!

Finally decided to check out this place as it is near my home for a beer. Oh my. How expensive. Happy hour beer for $7.50? For less than 14oz? Got a Zero Nemisis for that... Could have also got a Keith's for the same price....Crazy. Never again. There are so many proper full pints for great prices during happy hour along Stephen Ave. Too bad as I would have been interested in trying some food (which again is about 10% higher than similar places I have been.More

We sat in the roof top patio which was nice. Unfortunately the food wasn’t good. It tasted like it was all frozen and just reheated. If it was just a place we went for drinks it would have received a way better review.

My husband and I visit 1600 World Beer Haus fairly regularly and expected as similar experience here. It was NOT! I had made a reservation for my husband’s birthday. When we arrived, they could not locate the reservation. No big deal, as it was not...busy we were able to pick any table anyway. Upon ordering drinks (more specifically, beer...as in their name....) it was clear that most of the selections on their menu were unavailable - because of the ‘change of season’. Once we did pick something they had, it was sssllllooowww arriving. Food was a different story - delicious and we’ll prepared. As soon as we finished eating, we were presented with our bill. No inquiring if we wanted any more drinks, or dessert (refer above - this is my husband’s birthday, which I noted in my reservation). A disappointing experience and they will not get a second chance from me. We’ll stick with 1600 insteadMore

Ended up at this restaurant totally by accident one Saturday, walked in and picked the table on the main floor even though there was a rooftop patio open and very busy. Very few people were in the on the main floor which made it nice...and quiet. Service was quick and very friendly. The soup of the day was wild mushroom soup and it was excellent. Between the two of us we had the burger $16.50 and the Mexicali tacos $15.50. The food was really very good, I would say on the high end of pub style from and way more than we expected.More
