Excellent food and very good service! It was our first time and we all loved all the dishes we did have.

We went to the restaurant for my birthday since I really liked their lobster dish and was really looking forward to it. However, they had taken it off the menu. I then asked for a Shirley Temple but they had no grenadine. We had the...prawn dish which I found too spicy. I did enjoy the butter chicken. I would return if they put the lobster dish back on the menu.More

The service is great, however the food is overpriced and sub par. It is not Indian food, it’s Indian/western fusion and not worth what they are charging. The bill for 4 came to $180 and we were left feeling hungry after. There are several other...authentic Indian restaurants to choose from in Calgary and they are reasonably priced. Also, not great for those will allergies. Only 2 non-dairy options on the menu.More

A must go in Calgary!! We were visiting from nyc and stumbled upon this gem!! Christina was our waitstaff and was amazing. She was so conscientious of my partner’s allergy and had amazing recommendations for the menu. The best Indian we have had. We loved...the onion naan, butter chicken curry, shortrib pepper fry, and chicken Kati roll. The mango G&T was also a hit!! Thank you Calcutta cricket club!!More

Absolutely amazing restaurant. Best Indian food ever. We opted for the Taste of Calcutta which comes with a little bit of just about everything. Everything we received was well over the top in flavor. They have received a lot of rewards since opening and I...think they will continue to receive more. Six stars from me.More

I like indian food, a lot, i would eat it every day if i could. The decor was nice , the server was nice, the food looks good, my cold potato salad was a little too much spicy for my taste but everything else's was...perfect!More

Last evening we celebrated a belated birthday at Calcutta Cricket Club. Our group was 5 adults. My partner and I had previously experienced the “Taste of Calcutta Tasting Menu” which was amazing! This time, because we had one person with a dairy allergy and one...who was celiac, we decided just to order a bunch of dishes. The server was amazing and very educated on the ingredients and menu. She was able to let us know which dishes would be safe for everyone and which would not. She even reviewed our choices to ensure we would be ok. I would like to rave about the “chips & curry” as well as the “black pepper mushrooms”. These two dishes were over the top amazing. We also thoroughly enjoyed the momos, aloo gobi, dal makhani, chili chicken, broccolini and the Naan. Everything was fantastic. We finished off with the dairy free gluten free brownies (which I wish I would have ordered more of to bring home!) In closing, this was a fantastic experience both with their amazing food and their ability to cater to allergies. We will be back again and again and again!!More

A fantastic experience. Reservations were easy to book online and we were warmly greeted when we arrived. We had a lovely table on the side patio and ordered the 3 course meal. It was fantastic and we enjoyed the different appetizers and curry mains. The...food was seasoned well and felt the meal was priced appropriately. Service was too notch and the drinks were plentiful. Overall a great evening.More

First time at Calcutta Cricket Club. I will never go back as the food was salty. Definitely not authentic Indian

Greeted warmly at the door, in masks. Masks off at the table. Got our water, got our beers, almost forgot to order. Food was flavourful and atmosphere was full of life. Our excellent waitress had to leave and handed us off to an excellent waiter....Both were careful to check in on us to be sure we had what we needed. And then... Dessert!!! Just order the halwa.More

We had a reso for 6pm. From the second we sat down throughout the entire meal, we were rushed. He offered to take away our meal when it was half eaten, brought the bank machine with the bill and as soon as we paid it...the manager walked up to our table (at 7:25) and informed us that the next party that needed our table was waiting so we were welcome to either go sit inside or leave...so we left. When I called to speak to their GM to complain, my call was directed to Drea who claimed she’s not actually the GM...despite that being her title on LinkedIn. She basically said it’s normal to kick people out after 1.5hrs. Super tacky. Likely will go the way of it’s sister restaurant soon.More

This has by far been the best overall food experience since joining Trip Advisor. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Fastest serves we have ever had. This was the first experience having this culture dishes. Totally delicious. 110% Great

Great food and great service! Sarah was awesome and connected with our table! Had lots of suggestions and made sure we were enjoying each dish! Kudos on being able to talk about anything and sharing your fear of tarantulas. The rest of the staff were...also good! Very knowledgeable and attentive! This restaurant has a cool vibe, good music and a great wine list! Do the “taste of Calcutta.” It gives you a selection of the menu items that you might not normally order for a decent price. Also, have a Kati roll or two!More

Delicious food and amazing service! Sarah and the guy with glasses and a hand tattoo were great! Tried the Taste of Calcutta and it was delicious.

A gold plated t**d, at best. As you enter the restaurant you’re greeted with smiling faces and a decor that is truly envious. That experience begins to fall flat, almost immediately thereafter. For starters, a table of 4 was reserved that was changed to a...table of 5 without incident. Short or the odd chair that was hurriedly added to the table. Having asked if we could use a standard chair from one of the 2 empty tables adjacent from us, a ‘as you please, big man.’ Ostentatious response to a trivial and valid request. Seated, we order our beverages and our appetizers: the young lady serving us is courteous and polite. Within minutes, 2 appetizers, the tandoori prawns and the chili chicken promptly appear. The chili chicken is passed around and as it makes my way to me, a bite surrounded with hair makes it’s way to my mouth. Note, major faux pas, no beverages at the table just yet. Restauranteur 101. I place the hair on my plate and usher the gentleman that served us. A manager, I’m sure, on account of his uniform being different from the rest. An apology and a good request to replace the dish from the gent. My plate remains in front of me. The gent rushes off to get a replacement and I ask for our drinks. They arrive shortly thereafter. Plate still in front of me. Finally, my plate is taken, the replacement chili chicken is served. No plate for me to eat it with just yet. Utterly disappointing. The mains arrive right after my replacement plate. Success. Right? Yes, the food is delicious. The lack of service, not so much. Could it be that the only authentically Indian family is being served with far less attention than all non-exotic types? Oh non, mon dieu: the race card. (No, but sure felt like it). Asked if we require more mains or a accoutrement, no. ‘Please pack this.’ A plastic bag of our leftovers is promptly placed on the table. Again, hold that till you’ve asked me what we may want for dessert! Rookie hour. Finally, the bill arrives. I’m too disappointed to see if any concessions are made on account of the service or the bloody hair in my meal. I pay. We leave. Calcutta Cricket Club, get it together! May have been a bad night, but this caliber at these prices for a resto going for the Best of Calgary award is downright shameful. Be well, get better and take care.More
