My son lives around the corner and has been nagging us to go there and try it.
On our third attempt, we finally found it open and gave it a go. We had tried on two previous attempts, but both times the places was closed...even though their posted hours of service said they should be open. One time, we waited outside their door for 10 minutes along with one of their staff who did not have a key. Any, it was third time as a charm or a a strike out.
We came in and taken to our table and our drink orders taken (the beer I wanted was not in stock, so I picked another).
We ordered the Mahiberawi, a platter of 12 different items for 4 people. It came with a spongy sour bread that you use to scoop up the different items by hand to eat them. There were 5 meat dishes and 7 vegetarian on the plate, all, except one, to our liking. Very interesting and different for us North American types, but well worth a try. The platter gives one a chance to try a number of different dishes.
At the end, we had the coffee service, buna, which again was a unique experience and one which you must try.
Not cheap, the bill, before tip for the three of us, was $88.
And, yes, I would come back here.More
